If there is truth to this rumor, I think we will see the Nocci trade go down too!

Yep, we have no room for anybody now

I doubt there is any validity to this rumor. Is Donny not getting enough attention lately? If New York wants A.I, then I think that is a done deal because A.I will get to start, play a lot of minutes, and jack up a ton of shots, which are the only reasons why he plays the game.

I really don't think if you ask players about Iverson they go oo man don't get him. So many people here say he is a bad teammate and i am not saying this is not true cause what i think he has done in his to past situations have been bizarre, but i absolutely  think if Danny says to the players on the Team. "I am thinking about bringing in Allen Iverson, he agreed to come off the bench, and wouldn't be a distraction." You think the players are going to say know. Defiantly not our Big Three or the would have spoke up and thought Marbury was a problem. So we will see but if A.I. realizes that he doesn't need the money anymore and gives in to coming off the bench. I am all for it!

Right, because this worked so well in Detroit.

Greg Tanguay and Donny Marshall are aweful. During the games Comcast runs over and over that ridiculous add where Tanguay says: "They could win 72 games!!", followed by Marshall, saying: "They could be the best team in NBA history!". PLEASE take that ad down, Comcast.

The post game isn't much better. Their banter is terrible, the analysis is nearly as bad -- "Like I said before, Gary ----".

Someone raised the idea of Scal taking Donny's place, which is a good idea. I hope Tanguay will soon be gone too, replaced by someone who doesn't swap his brown prada glasses for his black one to go with the pastel tone of today's paisley pocket poof. ugh.

Just a guess here, but I don't think Rasheed Wallace is going to be one of those players all excited and tingly because AI is coming to Boston. Given his tight relationship with KG and KG's tight relationship with Ray and Paul, I think there might be a bit more condescension than you make it out to be.

AI at the LLE or min? Heck, why not? I would just rather wait until we are on a winning streak and have some stability before he signs.

LLE was given to Marquis Daniels.

What if this was AI's plan all the way?:

1. Accept to sign for the Grizzlies even if there was the possibility of playing off the bench (which was accelerated by his injury). He gets a $3 million check from Chris Wallace and later he finds excuses to leave the Memphis boat

2. Sign a deal for the min for the C's

3. Get a ring, playing off the bench and earning $4mill (instead of the $1.5 mil he would have got in the first place had he signed for us during the summer ;D :P)

Now seriously...do we need him?

Honestly?  I don't think there's any evidence to suggest AI is that smart.

Iverson and ring is the ultimate oxymoron.

The only rings Iverson will ever have are the ones on his ears.

The scuttlebut is that AI is headed for the Knicks.  If that happens, is Duhon available?  He would be a perfect backup pg in Boston.

Duhon is one of the most ineffective players in the league. Unless you like a player to take 12 shots to score 8 points and doesn't play defense.

Duhon is a player in a tough position. He's gotta run D'Antoni's Offense with a weaksauce supporting cast, and the best player on the court being either David Lee or Al Harrington.

Duhon would be a great backup here.

The one problem I see with Duhon is that he has been almost as loathe to accept a backup role as Iverson.  He signed with the Knicks because he wanted to start.

What? Duhon plays very good defense. It's one of the few things he does well.

"The one problem I see with Duhon is that he has been almost as loathe to accept a backup role as Iverson.  He signed with the Knicks because he wanted to start."

He signed with the Knicks because the Knicks offered him the most money, it wasn't necessarily about starting. Why the Knicks ever gave him that much money is beyond me.

Right, because this worked so well in Detroit.

well, i'm convinced then. danny now has my permission to bring AI onto the celtics. and after that he can sign gerald green to a contact as sg beside AI.

and while ainge is at it, is antonione still looking for money for his next trip to vegas?

Can we get off of this notion please for the love of god!

Iverson has no problems coming off the bench.

Iverson has problems with people lying to him.

Michael Curry lied to every Pistons player last season and specifically to AI and Rip Hamilton.

The Memphis Grizzlies lied to this past offseason, if they were straight with AI, the Answer would never have signed with the Grizz.

If the Celtics are straight with AI, and Doc is straight with AI, letting him know what the deal is, AI will have no issues coming off the bench for the Celtics.
