butimagine the difference this would have made last year after KG's injury. then remember how ray couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in the playoffs. then it's not so funny.

You got one -- Pierce. Rasheed and Boozer's games have essentially nothing to do with one another whatsoever. Sheed’s game is much more like Okur’s (Okur wishes), whom he’s co-existed with just fine.

But either way I still don't like the trade, we'd have an enormous hole at the 2 and two overpaid bad defensive PFs.

Fair enough. You don't feel PP, House and Daniels can play the 2 (i.e. a rotation of Pierce, Daniels, House and AK at the 2/3, with a pick-up like Stack behind them)?

And who are the bad defenders at the 4? Calling Kirilinko -- who i want to play the 3 on this team mostly -- a bad defender is getting a little carried away. The Celtics get better defensively in this trade.

That I would probably do, although they wouldn't.

I'm assuming you're talking about the 2nd option (with the Knicks pick) which they wouldn't do. The 1st option doesn't make sense to me. The reason to give up Ray would be to get both Boozer and Kirelinko.

Remember when we used to talk in the forums about trading Wally Szczerbiak for Boozer? And that was when Boozer was [really] good.

I guess this trade is better than the Ellis one, but I still am unsure about giving up Ray. I have always loved AK's game and Boozer has always played at a high level...there is always the injury risk and the messing with team chemistry thing, though.

They are not going to trade Brewer (and especially not the Knicks pick) just to get rid of 1 year of AK's salary.  

If they really want to get rid of AK, they could have done it already.  They want value back for him.  And while Ray could be value back, he is not enough for them to throw in the guy who would be AK's replacement at SF.

My guess is that the only guy the Jazz will be getting rid of this year is Boozer...and it will probably be for another expiring contract, and a pick or two.  Then they will reload next year with the Knicks pick, and look to trade AK's expiring contract for an elite SG.

That's exactly what they will try to do.  But if Boozer goes to an Eastern Conference contender, that would be bad news for the Celtics.

Imagine Boozer on the Bulls, for example.
