That was super-duper awesome.

Caught the last six minutes or so live on League Pass...will be abusing the "archive" function later in the evening to catch the 29-point third.

Time to start clearing my schedule for nights the Bucks play.

Kid is scary.  Rookies aren't supposed to drop 55 on NBA teams... not even the Warriors.

Almost makes you forget that Griffin and Rubio were supposed to be the stars coming into the season.  Jennings and Evans have filled in admirably.

Didn't he really struggle playing ball in Europe???

Didn't everyone pretty much agree that Ricky Rubio was far superior?

Wow

I caught some of the game.  Just awesome.  Maybe he'll be the lefty point guard that Kenny Anderson should have been.

Jennings is making the 9 teams who didn't draft him sorry. He reminds me of kobe but pg version. He can flat out score , especialy in pressure situations.

Not sure how he was mediocre in europe but he is already looking like a nba superstore and a shoe in for the ROY.

So basically he's the next incarnation of Iverson?

Yeah he def struggled in Europe:

"In 27 games in the Italian Lega A 2008-09 season, Jennings averaged 5.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 steals in 17.0 minutes per game. He shot 35.1 percent from the field and 20.7 percent from 3 point range in Lega A play.[13] In 16 Euroleague games, Jennings averaged 7.6 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in 19.6 minutes per game. In the Euroleague he shot 38.7 percent from the field and 26.8 percent from 3 point range.[14]"

What's up with that?  Is the style really that different?

So I guess when Jennings made that comment about being able to take Rubio 1 on 1 (or whatever it was)....he wasn't kidding.

This kid is amazing.  Blake Griffin will have to be truly spectacular to wrest RoY from this kid, unless Jennings really slows down (and why would he?)

Shoot!  I had him picked up on fantasy basketball but dropped him before the first game.  I completely regret it now.

He's on my team.  Filling in for Chris Paul atm who is out for a couple weeks.

Oh, and ps...I saw from the ESPN.com recap that the last time a rookie scored 55 or more was 1968.  Other rookies who scored that much: Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Rick Barry.  Not bad company.

AHHH that's so sick! I knew this kid was gonna be dope. Lemme see if I can find a post I made about him...

From the 2009 draft thread, June 25th:

Quote
I like that pick for MIL.

I don't get the hate for Brandon Jennings from Fran. I like his game.

Not as glowing or with as much foresight as I would have hoped but still, kinda called it, no big deal...
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

The thing that amazes me is that he really wasn't putting up big numbers in Europe.  I don't even know if he was getting crazy minutes out there.  I don't know what that says about the European league, but it def seems like it has helped him.
