It was inevitable with him being there.  I guess he wasn't well liked and the team is underachieving.

Can't say I'm too surprised given their disappointing start and the media reports that there is some strife in the organization.

This is not a shock to me.  They have been hunching the pooch a lot in this early season.  There was no evidence on the court that this was going to change either.

I'm assuming that it was a typo and that jeff Bower is the general manager and not an actual General. Although that would be pretty cool...

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Byron Scott is a great coach....for like 3 years. Then they stop listening.

Surprised it took this long.  He lost that team a while ago.  Now lets see if they can do something about that roster.

He should've been fired last year. Maybe now they'll stop playing that Armstrong crap.

It's tough seeing a team that made such strides over the past 2 years go down the toilet so quickly.

The blame, in my opinion, lies 100% on the front office. Trading for Okafor was just awful. It scrambled up their whole offense. They are well over the luxury tax and are overpaying for guys like Peja (14million), Okafor (10 million), Mo Peterson (6 million) and Darius Songaila (4.5million). They signed james posey for 6 million thinking it would put them over the top but it only put them over the luxury tax.

They are just a poorly structured basketball team and like i said, the blame is on the front office. Byron Scott could only do so much, and it seems as if they are using him as a scapegoat. Shame on them.

I'm happy.  I hate Byron Scott.  He's a punk who talked tons of crap about the city of Boston and the Celtics.

Excellent post.  Nobody is going to be much more successful with this roster.

I'll bet there's more than a handful of GMs  wish New Orleans would have made this move at the end of last season.

Scott won't be looking for work long.

Interesting....in Byron Scott's defense I don't believe he was the issue, though.

My question is: As the Hornets continue to lose, who will they fire next? Or Trade next?

IMO the reason for 3-6 isn't Byron Scott.

Surprising move. They should have made it at the end of the playoffs last season because at the time it was already clear that Scott didn't have a "connection" anymore with his players. The Hornets could have gone through the all summer, training camp and preseason with a new coach, that would have been better for them.

I also think it was too early to make this move but maybe there was some intern problems with Scott.

Ha!  Hand to God, last night while watching Phoenix blow them out I thought about making a "When will Byron Scott get fired?" thread, but then I had a beer and went to sleep instead.

Yeah, his team has clearly quit on him, as if the Denver series last year didn't make it obvious.  But I think management didn't want to have to pay another coach until it was obvious another year would go down the drain without action.

I watched them last night and they lacked desire on the floor, a weak effort.

Plus Scott's mustache alwasy looked awkward.
