Georges Niang and the Golden State Warriors have agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million contract. The signing completes the Warriors' 15-man roster ahead of the 2026-27 season after they also signed Brandon Williams earlier in the day.
Niang missed the entire 2025-26 season due to a foot fracture.
Niang has been one of the NBA's best three-point shooting big men throughout his career and gives the Warriors depth alongside Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford and Yaxel Lendeborg.
Good fit for their offense. Similar to Q Post who they lost. A three point shooting big who is bad on defense. Niang a PF version. Post a C version.
G: Steph Curry, Gary Payton II, Brandon Williams
G: B Podziemski, M Moody, D Melton, Will Richard
F: Jimmy Butler, Gui Santos
F: Draymond, Lendeborg, G Niang
C: Porzingis, Horford, Charles Bassey
Good big man depth. 4 quality rotation pieces. Niang as a 3rd stringer. They still have Charles Bassey. I would have liked to have seen GSW sign a better 3rd string center because Porzingis will miss some time. They are light on C depth when Porzingis is out. Draymond will have to play center again.

Other than that 3rd stringer, I love their bench. They have a plus bench player 1-5. One of the top benches in the league. Also one of the best 5 man 3rd stringer groups in the league. They have some of the top 3rd stringers 1-4 plus Bassey who is middle of the pack to below average. Impressive depth.
All still depends to the health of their key old players Steph, Jimmy, Draymond and especially Porzingis.
