Already some wild conspiracy theories floating out there.

Apparently DOJ & SEC are currently investigating Walter and Guggenheim.  Lo & behold, now he is selling the team to the brother of the President's son in law.

My first thought was where is Josh Kushner coming up with his share of the $12B?  How surprised will people be if the Saudis are behind this or something like that.

It is a suspicious seeming transaction on all fronts.  Why wouldn't the Buss family have gotten an offer from Kushner/Iger in the first place?  If they didn't have $10B a year ago, how is it they have $12B now?

One correction: they are not buying the entire team. The Buss family still has an interest. So, whatever they are paying, it is at a $12 billion valuation, rather than them paying 12 billion outright.

And, I have no idea how much any of these people have. Rumor before the sale was that Bill Chisholm wasn't even a billionaire, and yet he purchased the Celtics, so who the heck knows?

Walter owns 71%

So does this mean that Kushner/Iger are paying 71% of $12B ($8.5B)?

And yes, Chisholm did not pony up all the cash for the Celtics, he had investors, but I think those investors were disclosed.  What I am asking is who are the investors behind Kushner and would anyone be surprised if it was the Saudis or Kuwaitis or something like that and that in exchange, they were getting some favorable treatment from the US Government, at taxpayer expense?

I am doing the Fox News trick here, not saying this is true, just asking the question.  But when I hear that Kushner is involved and that the FCC and DOJ may be involved, and based on Trump's track record, why would anyone not expect this to be the case?

Josh Kushner is super liberal and made his billions selling obamacare. He's probably top 50 on the Forbes list. Unlike Chisholm who made his millions buying tech/software companies and who is like #3000 on Forbes list. Kushner is a 2 full deviations of wealth higher than Chisholm. I'm closer in wealth to Chisholm than he is to Kushner who is like 20 years his junior.
ok fine

Thank you for this info.  Shows what happens when one assumes.  Glad to hear he is not MAGA but I still hate the Lakers!
