I hate to say it, but we looked old tonight against the Nets. Creaky. a step slow. Not lazy, but just not physically able to do things quickly.

If the Nets weren't the Nets--with 7 players, no less--we would have lost that game. Same thing for the Timberwolves.

This team seems like the best team in the league on 3 days rest; NOT the best team in the league.

I hope I'm wrong.

Tanguay and Scal and everybody involved with the team is saying it was the 8 games in 12 days that made everyone tired and lethargic, but I ask, what is going to keep the Celtics from playing in this fatigued, slow manner every time they have to play a back to back, or late in the seaason, or in the playoffs after the fatigue of a long season?

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Fill `er up.  This was about as tough a stretch as they'll have all season.  No worries.

Yup

Dude, don't be a ****. I know the team isn't bad. I'm concerned with the lethargy brought on by a tough stretch of games.

What's to stop this from happening every time we have a jam-packed stretch, or in the playoffs?

I did not see the game, but from what many of you are saying the C's look old and tired.

Good thing our bench is built like it is. I still say we are better than anyone in NBA in a seven-game series, though.

It does not help when the schedule makers hook the C's up like this. I would almost say they were trying to run the C's into ground, but I'm sure other NBA teams have similar schedules.

December's schedule will be worse than this. We need Glen Davis back. A fresh Big will help.

I concluded watching the Nuggets get blown out in Atlanta that going through the first week undefeated takes a toll and losing steam along the way in inevitable.
They'll play better after a few days at home. They need rest and practice time and group therapy to get to the bottom of the their inability to start games on the right foot.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

For the record, Kevin Garnett does not like basketball. And Ray Allen is too ghetto for my taste. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Oh please, Ray Allen is an angel next to that blood Paul Pierce. I hate the Celtics so much! lol

I think the team will be fine.

We are only 8 games into the season, there isn’t any reason to panic just yet.  It’s just like anything else…doesn’t matter how good they are, for whatever reason they will go out there and lay eggs from time to time.  It happens.

I would much rather this team face their struggles through the season and figure out, as a team, how to overcome them.  It will give the team much needed experience together with the new additions.

What if the struggle is being too old to sustain the energy required to compete on a high level?

How do you fix that?

I think that this is happening so early in the season is more worrisome than reassuring. Its like the breakdown has ALREADY begun.

That actually makes him a great guy. In my church, elbowing Anderson Varejao in the nuts is equal to or greater than walking on water.

The sad part of that picture is the Varejao is grabbing Rays elbow to make it look like Ray is doing something. If Ray was really elbowing Varejao in the nuts Varejeo would not be standing there with his hands up looking for the REF.

lol... I noticed that. It looks like Varejao caught Allen's elbow with his legs and clenched it because deep down he wanted Ray to feel his nuts. What a creepy guy.
