I think that the big 3 will get a lot of bench minutes this game, NO doesn't stand a chance.
Game will be over 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter.

Thanks for the TP's everyone!  Chris Paul is going to be hyped up for this game.  Every Hornets blog has the quote from Rondo (via Chris Mannix) that CP3 has the stats he does because he always has the ball in his hands.  I imagine that it has gotten back to Chris Paul and he will be looking to get some satisfaction by outplaying Rondo.  The rest of the team will have to have his back.

TP FL for the game thread. Here's the thing about CP3 trying to outplay Rondo. he doesn't have the horses to do it. Rondo will pack up stats because the guys he passes to will make the shots against the Hornets. Can the same be said for the guys Paul will be passing to against this Celtics defense? I don't think so and Rondo will be 1st Team NBA All-Defense this year. Bank on that. At best Paul I think will be able to play Rondo to a draw.

One thing I find strange in RR's game is that he doesn't dribble the ball he just uses his speed to get in front of his guy. There is so much room to improve on that count and it would help him with his J eventually. Rondo uses his off hand more times that his right one so I know he is a excellent ball handler it just the technique that is missing.
It would add another dimension in his game IMO

Thanks for the fantastic game threads this season FL!

I always love the Hornets Celtics matchup for some reason, I suppose mainly because it's nice to see Rondo really take it to CP3. Okafur in hornets attire will also be an interesting site in tonight's game.

Celtics by 15  :P

So what happens with RR's contract if he outplays CP3 and we win big?

I don't see him outplaying him, but I see a pretty even game between both.

He's outplayed him before.
True.

Should be a fun game. Hate Chris Paul though. Tony Parker >.

RR and Perk are dead on, The ONLY thing that makes Chris Paul such a statistically dominant PG is that noone else touches the ball.

Why is Perk averaging 4 RPG?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I really don't understand all these rationalizations to explain why Chris Paul has a high number of assists... he's a really good point guard, and has great vision in the court. That's why he gets the assists total. And all this with crappy teammates at a slow pace.

And as far as Rondo is concerned, Paul takes about 6 or 7 shots more per game... that's 6 or 7 shots more that he has no chance of getting an assists on. He also plays more minutes than Rondo, so it goes both ways.

With all that said, Rondo and the Celtics will destroy him tonight.

Plus it seems like Pierce is making an extreme effort to crash the boards. KG is also looking good rebound-wise.... then theres the fact that we don't miss.

Keep the train rollin'

From: In The Dark

900,000 tons of steel, made to roll.
The brakes don't work and this grade's too steep, her engine's sure to blow.
900,000 tons of steel, out of control,
She's more a rollercoaster than the train I used to know.

It's one hell of an understatement, to say she can't be beat.
She's tempermental, more a b^tch than a machine.
She wasn't built to travel at the speed a rumor flies,
These wheels are bound to jump the track before they burn the ties.

Let 'er roll, ALL ABOARD  ;)

TP FL because, you know...

"Indefatigable on Defense, defines these Celtics"

Pregame Notes and Quotes

-Rondo focused on season, not on contract. Didn’t seem that there was any progress in contract talks. The way he looks at it, hes going to be on a team next year somewhere.

-When asked how confident he was about remaining a Celtic, Rondo responded by saying, “I don’t know, it’s a business. I want to be here but you never know what’s going to happen.”

Rondo on where he thinks he ranks with PG’s in league; “Top one. I’m like one-ish, one and a half-ish. I believe I’m one of the best I do, that’s it. That’s how I play. I work out and work as hard as I can to be the best.

-Scal playing tonight, says the ankle is better and he will be looking out for camera men

-Baby was out on the court hoisting left handed shots for a while before the game.

Doc on Pierce:
“He’s got to be one of the top rebounding small forwards in the league that I’ve known. The game in Cleveland in my opinion he won it for us with his rebound. He had a rebound over Verajao that most fives couldn’t get.”

Doc on Shelden:
“He’s playing his role really, with us. I was telling a guy earlier, I really believe that’s the case for him where He’s gone they’ve expected him to do more than what he may have been capable of and here we really work on and talk to him everyday about staying within your role, within the roles and confines of what we need from the team. He’s a pick and pop player, and can be a terrific rebounder. He does not need to be the star- he just needs to be what he is for us. If he does that he’ll play great, and he’s doing that.
