You know who would allows you to play with one less person on your roster if you go to Chicago? Tony Allen.

This is definitely one of the sadder sports stories of the year, or even last few years. Way sadder than Toine screwing people

Apparently he got into a spat with his WIFE?  ??? ??? ??? When the heck did he get married?

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Cavaliers player Delonte West and his wife reportedly got into a spat Saturday evening that ended with West's wife filing a domestic violence report.

The two reportedly fought at their apartment when Delonte tried to take her wedding ring off. Mrs. West left their home and headed to Cleveland Hopkin's International Airport, where she filed a domestic violence report.

Cleveland Police tell 19 Action News there were no signs of abuse or injury. Mrs. West then got on her flight and flew out of Cleveland.

Tad Carper, Vice President of Communciatons with the Cleveland Cavaliers tells 19 Action News "the team was contacted and is aware of the situation but declined any further comment."

West was arrested in September for carrying three loaded guns while riding his motorcycle. Police pulled him over and found one gun strapped to each leg and the other in a guitar case strapped to his back.

Sad really. Just read the story about Pierce talking about Antoine Walker and how things have backslid for him so far and it's clear now West is right behind him. At this point West makes Tony Allen look like Ray Allen. I wouldn't touch Delonte with a 10 foot pole right now.

This is just more encouragement for the Cavs to trade for Stephen Jackson.

apples and oranges. One seems to have made poor financial decisions, one has a medical condition.

I like them both, but other than being ex-celtics, they don't share much in common.

Sorry, but Delonte has made a lot of bad decisions lately.  Illness doesn't excuse his poor decisions.  Wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole as someone else said here.  I know people with his disorders (as I'm probably sure you do too) and they don't make poor decisions like Delonte has.

I hope Delonte can get some help.  NOWAY would I want him anywhere near my team as the worst case scenario that I see is he goes postal with his gun collection, depression and anger issues.

You don't think a mental condition might contribute to some poor mental decision making?

An interesting stance....

While I agree that Illness is not an excuse for poor decisions, I completely disagree that it is not a possible (or even probable) reason for them.  Your friends have nothing to do with Delonte or his disease.  If they have not made bad decisions because of their disease, that's great for them, but it isn't relevant in this discussion.

The fact remains though, sickness is not an excuse for making bad decisions.  The person making those decisions still needs to live with the consequences of them.  Now, he might get a little more leniency in the eyes of the public, but it doesn't mean he is not responsible for his actions.

As for whether I would consider bringing West back to the C's...no chance right now.  If you cannot count on a player being on the floor...or even present at practice, no matter the reason why, then I do not think you want him on the roster.

One thing to keep in mind:  I think most matrimonial attorneys will tell you that one of the absolutely best ways a client (usually, the wife) can head into a divorce is with a restraining order against the other side (usually, the husband).  It gives the victim immediate and exclusive possession of the marital home, and sets up the status quo in other ways, as well.

I don't know what Delonte did here.  However, just because his wife charged domestic violence doesn't mean he's guilty.  It could very well be a ploy for a litigation advantage.

(I've only read the very short blurb posted on the front page, so there may be facts / allegations I haven't noticed.)
