Is anyone impressed?  I'm not.  I know it was only preseason, but it looked like the Cavs really wanted last night's game, until they finally gave up and sat their starters.

I thought Moon and Parker were supposed to be good defenders?  Marquis ran circles around them.  Shaq does look good though, but I see him clogging the lane a lot, limiting Lebron's drives and making him shoot more jumpers.

And are they really depending on Leon Powe to give them some depth? :D

What are your thoughts on the Cavs?

I try not to make judgments based upon the pre-season.  That being said, I agree, they didn't look sharp.  I do think, though, that part of that was the lack of energy that goes along with a pre-season game.

I'll be curious to see if they work Delonte back into the rotation.  Issues or not, he's still much better than Boobie.

They didn't impress me last night but they have an impressive team overall.  We'll get a better read on them tuesday, but I expect them to be right there battling us at the end of the year.

Didn't see the game, but I think how Delonte does in the early season is going to be a big factor in how they get out of the gate.  He's more of a stabilizing influence on the court than many fans realize.  Does anyone know what his current situation is?

Never was other than LJ who if he gets every call can make them tough to beat.

They don't have nearly the same type talent that Boston or Orlando have.

He's medically cleared to play, but the Cavs have him benched for the time being.

I'm gonna say it now, not based off of last night, at the end of the season:

1. Celtics
2. Magic
3. Cavaliers

There will be a ton of reports all year how it's just not working out and they can't figure out how to get completely on track. Lebron will be Lebron but the team as a whole is not nearly as good as the C's or the Magic.

I was impressed by Shaq.

Yeah, I think a lot of Celtics fans are underselling him.

I was impressed with the way that Tommy was back on his game calling Shaq for travelling and yelling at the refs.  Tommy was big time last night

Which is funny if you saw the espn highlights this morning.  They pumped up lebron etc, highlight was him blocking rondos shot and a few other bright spots for cavs.  I didn't even think it was a game last night.  Basically our subs beat their starters  :-\
lebron is lebron
shaq looked good but way out of shape and he clogs lane for cavs, if i'm coaching against them in a series I'd let him go 1 on 1
marquis' looked like he could have had his way for 30
other thought, isn't mo williams an all star or was pushing to be one? he isn't in the same league with rondo
if i'm a cavs fan i'm worried!

Yea, Shaq looked like the usual Shaq and pretty unstoppable in the post. Their offense did look a little disjointed when he was in there, though. Lebron might have to settle for more jumpers this season and we all know how that will work out for them.

After last night, no regrets on missing out on Moon.

The Cavs are going to be a great team, but they weren't sharp last night.  S'ok, it's preseason, we weren't terribly sharp against the Knicks.  LeBron's rejection of Rondo made Rajon look like a little kid trying to play against his mean older brother.  Z looked slow, but he was able to get those set shots off without much trouble.

Delonte was their second-best player once the games started really counting, so it's hard to make too many judgements.  Think they get a lot of energy from him, and I've got to believe that he would make life at least a little more difficult for Quisy than Moon did.

Yea Shaq was able to bully his way around, LeBron didn't look good taking his jumpers.  I only judged the Cavs on the first quarter when it was their starters and I definitely was not impressed.  I was expecting the Cavs to be much sharper and come out strong in that first quarter.  Oh well.

P.S. I hope they keep playing Moon at the 2 where he guards Marquis, since Quisy was just abusing him last night.

I'm not, but it's the preseason, and last night it was clear to me that Lebron was not interested in doing much.

I am getting a little of a C's 2008-2009 vibe from them though.  I get the feeling that they have lost a little bit of the edge they had during the regular season last year, and seem ready to cruise a bit until the playoffs start.  I am thinking it might be worth looking into betting the under on the regular season wins on this team.  They still are going to be REALLY tough in the playoffs, but I have a feeling the C's (who are on a mission) might run away with home court.
