I said this before, sign Pavlovic if he gets bought out. Well, the inevitable happened, and he is now a free agent. A great swing guard; long arms for defending and dunking, great leaping ability and shooting touch. If he could settle for the vet min, PERFECT. Eddie,Daniels,Pavlovic,BBD,Sheed. Great lineup. After that, we can look at trading Tony Allen closer to the deadline to get a playoff time vet big man.

Rondo, Marquis
Ray, Eddie, Giddens              Tony Allen for Anyone
Pierce, Pavlovic, Walker
KG, BBD, Scal
Perk, Sheed, Sheldon
Can't stop, Rondo!

At least he can shoot, he's already a better option than Tony. But a very low IQ similar to Tony. Its a risky move having two dumb basketball minds on one team. Deep inside still rooting for billy & JR.

Different Sasha. You're thinking of Sasha Vujacic.

Pavlovic would be an excellent pickup for this team.  He would give them some extra shooting off the bench to balance off Daniels, and the other backup wings, and he is also a decent defender.  I hope they can get him.

The guy has one definable NBA skill, he can shoot the three. He is an okay at keeping a man in front of him but is neither a shot blocker or a person who picks up any steals. He is a horrible rebounder, he picks up offensive fouls at an alarming rate, and is a bad passer.

The dude averages a PER of around 8.00. Okay, so I'm not a huge believer in Hollinger stats but I do know that when players get stats that are consistently over years below 9.00 in the PER stat that they are bad players.

...long arms for defending and dunking

That brought a smile to my face this morning.

If Daniels is going to be our backup 2/3 he'd be a fine 15th man though. Gives doc another option to get more shooting on the floor.

You could do a lot worse than Sasha Pavlovic, he's a pretty good player, I'm interested.

Don't need him.

15th spot = Lester Hudson  (I hope).

He's the best player available and he fills a spot where we have a hole, the backup 3.  I prefer Daniels and House as the guards.  We don't have any backup wings who can hit threes and play bigger wings.  Eddie can shoot but is much worse defensively.  He would give us a solid tenth man and put Tony back as the 11th man/expiring contract.  It would mean we could keep Tony and Scal as the 11th and 12th men too, which I think is necessary for certain matchups.

No thanks.

Mind if I ask why?  Do you think he is not better than Tony Allen, Bill Walker, and JR Giddens?

  • Rondo = Good
Wally Szczerbiak is also currently without a team, and honestly I'd much rather have him at the end of our bench than Sasha Pavlovic.  He's already played here once, and although he's a limited player, he's more solid and experienced than Pavlovic.

As N.A. pointed out, Sasha has awful PER numbers (and other numbers).  Wally's numbers are not great but they are average for a role player of his age.
