I said this before, sign Pavlovic if he gets bought out. Well, the inevitable happened, and he is now a free agent. A great swing guard; long arms for defending and dunking, great leaping ability and shooting touch. If he could settle for the vet min, PERFECT. Eddie,Daniels,Pavlovic,BBD,Sheed. Great lineup. After that, we can look at trading Tony Allen closer to the deadline to get a playoff time vet big man.

Rondo, Marquis
Ray, Eddie, Giddens              Tony Allen for Anyone
Pierce, Pavlovic, Walker
KG, BBD, Scal
Perk, Sheed, Sheldon

I'll take him. What team was he on last season? And I can't believe someone actually mentioned Wally Sczerbiak. Please, no Wally. The guy stinks.

IF, repeat, if, we really are going to play Daniels as the backup PG, then I favor going after Sasha.  He is a very good offensive player, who can slash as well as shoot.  He has good physicality, and don't forget he is the guy who played LBJ in practice day after day, year after year, along with Ira Newble. (I'm a secondary Cavs fan, and have been since the Stepien era.) So there's a lot to like.

The problem always was, he was unwilling (not unable) to play defense, and was somewhat uncoachable.  Skillwise, he can play.  My 2 cents.

I'd actually really like a taller athletic small forward. I don't see was Pavlovic gets so much hate, he isn't really all that bad.

I think this is a very good idea. At least invite him to camp.

Pavlovic would be an excellent pickup for this team.  He would give them some extra shooting off the bench to balance off Daniels, and the other backup wings, and he is also a decent defender.  I hope they can get him.
I agree with you, but would add that we still need to find a place to dump Tony.  I don't want Hudson gone to make room for him.  Otherwise, it would be a great stroke of luck.

  • Rondo = Good
I really don't understand what anybody sees in Pavlovic.  There's a reason nobody else wants him.  He's not very good.

There are other players out there - still unsigned - that would be better for our team (though not really much more needed in my opinion).

I'd take Keith Bogans, Ime Udoka, or a number of other names before I would look into Pavlovic.

Like I said before, I'd rather have Wally Z.  My point in saying so is not to imply that Wally is very good - it's to underscore how unexciting I find the prospect of Sasha Pavlovic in green.

I don't think he's great either, but he'll contribute more than Hudson would.
At this point, since Daniels is already signed, we don't have enough minutes for a SF and a PG.  I'd rather see Daniels at the point.  So I'd be happy if we did a 10 man rotation with Pavlovic seeing only about 10 minutes a night.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I presume because we can imagine wonderful things like we did with Orien Greene.

How do we know that he'll be more productive than Hudson? Lester brings alot of things to the table... he is literally good in every part of the game. Plus he plays a position that we need filled.

I'd rather have tony hustling, playing relatively good defense and making turnovers than him.  And that is a lot since I've been trying to trade tony in my mind for quite some time.  Lets look to a good solid defender who can hit an outside jumper 6'7" or so for 10 minutes.
wait is that walker? 8)

"Sasha Pavlovic, recently waived by the Suns, has agreed to sign with the Timberwolves on a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

The Knicks also expressed interest in Pavlovic."

Exactly, I'd rather have a veteran whom we know can play in the NBA than Lester Hudson....
