Taylor is an undersized 2 guard just like Lester Hudson and Gabe Pruitt. He is not the answer at PG.

Quite the athlete more springs then Rondo.

Hudson could be in for a real fight.

The kid has the experience and is still younger.

I hope we do get a back up PG and I think he needs to be a very good DEFENSIVE player before anything else.  Rondo's D is not very good in my opinion and I think we need somebody on this team that can play tough D on a PG.

That's impressive if he jumps higher than Rondo cuz Rondo can sky.

Mike Taylor is probably not going to the hall of fame, but he's head and shoulders above the likes of Tyronn Lue, Dan Dickau, Carlos Arroyo and Lester Hudson.  He has athleticism and skills.  He's a tough kid from the South side who won't back down from anyone.

Is he a better option than, say, Bobby Jackson, assuming that BJax can still play?  Probably not, at least not for this team.
But he's better than the others.

Let Rivers earn his salary instead of pushing buttons.  With good coaching and some additional maturity, Taylor could really turn into something.

Who cares if he won't back down from anyone? That doesn't make an NBA player.

Taylor is a marginal NBA player. I'm not sure he's head and shoulders above anyone.

The first time I saw Mike Taylor play, he reminded me of a young Darrell Armstrong (before he broke out). Unfortunately, he was just having a good game and some of the skills that were on display that day are very inconsistent for him.

For example -- the poor decision making, poor floor leadership for a point guard, the inefficient scoring, and the poor defense due to a lack of consistent effort.

Mike Taylor is far too raw to be useful NBA player at this point in his career. He's a great athlete + a decent prospect ... but this is a bad situation for him. Taylor won't get a sniff of court time on this team, and that'll be bad for his development because this is a guy that sorely needs game experience.

Edit: When Taylor is on form -- you see very good pressure defense + contagious energy + non-stop pushing of the basketball + good penetrator with a very good handle -- that's why he reminded me of a young Darrell Armstrong.
