Wow. Alabama just got very, very lucky. I'm glad to see it, but it wasn't pretty.
As usual, I was there and you are right. It was not pretty, but a win is a win in a rivalry game like that.
Alabama is obviously tired and Saban is admitting that the bad offensive play calling, the fatigue and a rested Tennessee team playing very well as reasons we almost blew it. I hate Tennessee, but hats off to their defense. Monty Kiffin could coach in the NFL and he can certainly coach in college.
Alabama now finally hits their off week where they can get some rest after 8 straight games before facing LSU. I'm hoping they find their passing game again before we do slip up and lose one. The running game is solid, but the play calling has been suspect at best.
As for the Boise St. argument, I'll agree that slipping in the rankings is crazy. They are winning...period. However, to assume that they'd beat the snot out of Alabama or anyone else is crazy. Again, you have to say, "If Boise St. played Alabama's schedule, how would they be doing?" My guess is that they'd have at least one if not two losses right now. But again, I can't assume that anymore than eja117 can assume the opposite. Yes, a playoff system would be great to see, but it's not going to happen. If I'm Boise St., I'm trying to join a legit conference ASAP. Hawaii is horrible. That game should not even be considered as a exhibit in this discussion.
P.S. After the Alabama game, I went to a KISS concert in Birmingham. Very entertaining day and makes my sig even cooler now.
