Is there any place to see the standings from last year? I joined late and didn't know everything would disappear. I thought I traded for the #1 or #2 overall pick but maybe I was hurt by the penalties?

As much as I'd love the #10 pick, I believe that it belongs to Gomesfan(?)... I traded it to MMSB last offseason in the ill-fated Tyson Chandler-Diaw swap. I had in my spreadsheet that GF ended up with it... how? I have no idea. And he could have moved it too.

You traded this year's 1st rounder before last year's draft, GC? I wouldn't have allowed that.

Chalk that up to inexperience. I thought I was getting #1 and probably wouldn't have traded had I fully understood. Big difference in having the 1st choice and the 3rd.

No it was after last year's draft -- maybe in the days following? -- but before the season started.

Wait, wait...... I know we discussed anti-tanking rules but did we ever vote?

I don't think it's fair to start the rule in season (esp. since if what you're saying is right, that 00-33-33 gets penalized not LB17...). Furthermore I'd argue the equation you're using seems odd, i think all teams should be allowed to miss X games (40? 30? whatever, threshold for just normal injuries (30 = 3 gms/position) but not have points added on until they miss more than that)

Even though i was as vocal as anyone about the need for anti-tanking measures, as a general fantasy sports rule I pretty strongly belive we should all have the full season to plan for any rules --- changes in keepers, tanking penalties, etc.

And If i'm reading the spreadsheet right, 00-33-32 got penalized, 2 spots himself despite taking over the team midseason.

I thought the LB17 pick ended up lower due to the lottery.

My suggestion would be to restore the picks as they ended the 2010-11 and institute STARTING WITH THIS UPCOMING SEASON a penalty for games missed and make it clear. i'm happy to lend any excel skillz needed

I'm fine with rolling back to raw order of finish, if people think implementing this now seems unfair. However, this general idea was discussed mid-season, IIRC, and we've been struggling for several seasons now trying to figure out a way to deal with "tanking" in whatever form it presents itself.

[33 still won't get the #1 pick, that goes to Toine's Boys. There was no change to the order of the first five picks post-lottery.]

We can implement a strategy for this coming season, and the one I've outlined seems a good basis to me. It seems fair, simple/straightforward, and is relatively easy to implement.

I'm The newcomer here so I'll go with the majority. I think the tanking rules are good and necessary. I thought I had it somewhere that I wouldn't be held accountable as a midseason takeover for the position I was put in when it came time to do the calculation. It might even be in this topic's discussion. I made moves based on having the #2 & #3 lottery positions. It didn't tell me anywhere what that pick might be with a punishment added to it. If it did I can say that I probably wouldn't have made that choice or taken that risk.I think if these picks are tradable than you need to be able to calculate what that pick is worth at the time of the trade not some time later. This might mean keeping a standings based on adjusted points using games missed as the official "trade" standings. This is something that will have to be taken into consideration in making all trades involving picks. If I make a trade midseason with the last place team for what could be a high pick and they dissolve and have a lot of missed games do I now own the somewhere in the middle of the round pick?
