Least favorite Celtic move/Non move over the past 15 years?

At the time, and in no particular order,

trading Joe Johnson,
picking Forte,
signing Blount at all,
having whatever his face as coach - the one that followed Pitino,
bringing Toine back,
Pitino's first draft,
Anything done by M.L. Carr - too many to list,
trading for Telfair,
resigning TA,
releasing Gabe.

I'm getting irritable just thinking about this.

My biggest problem with this was that he was SUPPOSED to fill the hole left by posey

I know the intent of this post was to discuss roster moves, but I wanted to add one non-roster move to the list.  That was the decision by the team to totally ruin the experience of attending a game.  The loud music, the jumbotron, the promotions, the advertising, the dancers and everything else that's not basketball just detract from the experience for me.  The basketball game provides all the entertainment I need.

agreed---ditch the dancers.  I can deal with the jumbotron most of the time but the dancers should get canned.

Hiring ML Carr would have been justified if we got Duncan. Wasn't that season a supposed tank job (a la Cleveland in 2003)?

Yeah but hiring me would've been justified if we'd gotten Duncan.

There are some "lowlights" but nothing compares to Pitino, ML was bad mind you, Vin Baker gets a nod sure but Pitino
As soon as it happened I called a friend from Kentucky and yelled at him.  Maybe he's good in college but if anyone saw him coach the knicks they would have to be pounding with baker to think Pitino was any sort of a pro coach/ gm.  AND WE GAVE HIM THE KEYS TO THE CITY!!

The minutes that Eric Strickland & JR Bremer got in the 2001-02 & 2002-03 playoffs.   In 01-02 against New Jersey, when we had the 26 point come from behind win in Game 3 it was Paul,Antoine,Rodney Rogers,Eric Williams & Kenny Anderson on the floor basically the entire time in the 4th qtr with Battie & Delk subbing from time to time.  They were playing pick and roll with Antoine & Paul and scoring every time down the court, it was our most efficient lineup and it was totally breaking NJ apart.   Then Erick Strickland plays 25 & 26 minutes in Games 5 & 6, and I nearly wanted to throw up.   Why O'Brien didn't leave that same Game 3 4th qtr lineup in for the majority of Games 5 & 6 I don't know that lineup was destroying NJ.   I was disgusted that Strickland got that much time on the court for Games 5 & 6.

In 2002-03 JR Bremer got like 50 minutes in the NJ series where we got swept and I didn't think he should have gotten more than 10 minutes in that series.  Even though we got swept 3 of those games were close.  

Two big coaching mistakes right there that could have gotten us to the Finals in 01-02 & ECF in 02-03.

I am glad some of you are saying the Toine for Raef deal- that really depressed me at the time and it ended up sinking us for the next few years trying to unload that contract. We basically gave up Brandon Roy for Telfair so we could get a shorter contract with Ratliff...

I also hated trading Eric Williams to the Nuggets (the first time he was traded) for a second round pick (or was it two?)- I just didn't see the point.

I also think trading Ricky for Wally was a horrendous deal.

I understand people have differing opinions of Antoine and Ricky, but those trades were doomed from the beginning and the deals Raef and Wally were on were long and for a lot of dollars.

I also think trading Ricky for Wally was a horrendous deal.

I understand people have differing opinions of Antoine and Ricky, but those trades were doomed from the beginning and the deals Raef and Wally were on were long and for a lot of dollars.

I was big fan of the Ricky for Wally deal. Getting rid of Blount was worth it.

Trading Billups for Kenny.  I didn't hate Kenny, but I thought Chauncey was going to be an excellent player.  It took him a while to really shine, but he was solid even before he went to Detroit.

I disagree with the whole trading the Brandon Roy pick.  Danny wasn't going to select Roy with that pick anyway, he was looking to into picking Rondo there.  Instead he still snagged Rondo with a higher pick and also got rid of a year on a $12 million contract.  I think you have to consider Rondo in that "Telfair for Brandon Roy" deal.  From what I remember Danny wasn't too keen on selecting Roy.  However, I was very upset at the time because wanted him to take Rudy Gay with the pick.  That would have been # 2 on my list if it didn't lead to a championship.

vitaly potapenko for andrew declerq and '99 1st rounder (andre miller- wouldve helped at the time, alot of goods still on the board then)

not resigning marty conlon.

  My least favorite non-move was the first thing Pitino attempted when he came to Boston. Antoine, the 2 lottery picks and possibly a future 1st rounder for a 31 year old Scotty Pippen (coming off of his last good season as a pro). Sure took a long time to figure out Pitino wasn't the guy.

I understand that getting rid of Blount was a positive, but I do think that the Blount thing is a little overblown on this board. Obviously his contract was a bit too high, but it wasn't ridiculous (like Raef's contract). Sure, he wasn't the most likeable guy, but he probably took more heat than he ever should have...
