If you think that I am just going away-Think again! I am getting ready for the NBA season. Waiting for the call. Charlotte, Miami, NY.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up in NY honestly

they only want to give out 1 year deals and he would be a good fan draw - especially in that offense

I think NY and Charlotte are the best choices if he wants to go somewhere to be "the man."  Miami would be the best if he's trying to help a team achieve a higher status or compete for something more significant (although he's still not enough to achieve championship contending status for them in my opinion.)

If the plan in NY is to sign Sessions long term, and I do not know if that is still the plan, then bringing in Iverson makes no sense. It retards the development of their future 23 year old PG.

Depends if Nate Robinson comes back. If he does I don't see how Iverson makes any sense for New York.

Charlotte is where I think he'll end up.

Didn't the negotiations between Sessions and NY fall apart?  I thought I read that somewhere.  Is he still in play for them?  I thought I read that he was working something out with LA clippers.

Who's the most overrated inefficient scorer in league history?

Though I think Bob MacAdoo would challenge that!

Its pretty interesting that both Robinson and David Lee are still up in the air.  They have to be two of the more talented and young players still left in limbo.  Beyond them, who are the other most desirable restricted free agents out there?

Also, they have been having Robinson come off the bench for his entire career, I don't think that would effect their desire for Iverson.  For the Knicks organization, I don't think the next year has development as a more significant desire over revenue.  I think if they had a choice, they would prefer to make a bunch of money for a year before the big free agency of 2010 rather than develop players.  Bringing Iverson will certainly enhance their chances at putting fans in the seats.  I think ultimately that would be more important to them than making sure they give Robinson the starting role.

Since when has Iverson put fans in the seats?

He drew some more at first in Denver. But their attendence wasn't any different with Billups. I think winning drives attendence more than anything.

They got pretty excited about him for one night on Detroit.

I agree, winning is the ultimate method of getting fans in the seats.  Although star power helps as well.  And I'm not so sure that Nate Robinson at the helm vastly increases NY's immediate chances at winning more and subsequently putting fans in the seats.  Also, Iverson has shown throughout his career to marginally increase attendance, although not in Detroit.  However, he has dramatically increased road attendance for his teams (though this doesn't help the NY franchise) and increased national exposure on television.

Both Denver and Detroit have recently added Iverson to their respective teams.  Here is what happened to home attendance before and after Iverson arrived (data taken from ESPN.com):

First, here is season home attendence for Denver:

2005-06: 702,645

2006-07: 706,437 (year Iverson arrived)

2007-08: 711, 962

2008-09: 706,165 (year Iverson departed)

And here is Detroit:

2007-08: 905, 116 (team is at capacity)

2008-09: 896, 971 (with Iverson team is not at capacity)

All in all, there is some benefit to attendance when bringing in a star player.  There's always more excitement when a star player joins a new team.  Iverson in NY is a great marketing boost as well.

Pretty small gain in Denver; 1.3% between the '05-'06 and '07-'08 seasons.  Denver also went from a 44-win team to a 50-win team, and from winning 63% of their home games to 80%.  HArd to separate out how much of an impact Iverson really did have.

Is Iverson even viewed by the casual fan as a superstar anymore?
