Scal's role is gone..

I'd trade Scal, TA, Walker, Giddens, whatever for Duhon for sure. However i do not want to surrender a 1st round pick. I think we'll want that in the summer of 2011. (2010 cant be traded, since we already traded the 2009 pick)

The rule states that you cannot trade your first round pick from two future drafts. Now that the 2009 draft is passed, we actually can trade the 2010 pick. Just not for Duhon!
I like Duhon's game, but I do not think he would be happy as a backup. He wants to start.

We're trying for a championship here..
Let's say the Knicks get Sessions and Williams as reported. We can send them Scal, TA, plus a future pick, probably 2010 and get Duhon. Duhon is the perfect back-up point in our system. We don't really need another draft pick on this veteran-heavy team and would really balance our roster. It would look like this:Perk,KG,Sheed,Baby,Landlord,SwiftPierce,Ray,Daniels,Walker,GiddensRondo,Duhon,House,Hudsonany takers?

Could trade the 2011 pick, I believe.I like Duhon, but I wouldn't do the trade. I think expiring contracts like Allen's and Scal's will be valuable, and I think the Cs can find a serviceable enough PG (Cs only need someone who is competent for 5-10 mins a game -- giving up a future 1st rounder seems a steep price to pay for a one year rental of such a player).I think the rule applies only for future picks, so I think the 2010 one may be considered current, so it can be traded. Not sure though. Maybe if it's on draft night. Too lazy to look up the specifics at the moment. In any case, I think it would be wiser in the long run to sign a player like Anthony Carter to the LLE (or has he been signed?) or a player like Lue or Knight to the vet min (even though they are not that popular on this board).

Actually, just to turn it around some, I would trade Tony Allen and Eddie House to the Knicks for Chris Duhon and one of their 2010 2nd rounders. I think if he was used as the third guard in more of a combo role, he might be happy. Excellent insurance idea and if Lester Hudson is healthy come the deadline, he makes a great trade chip for us. We will still have Daniels at that point as well.
