Let's say the Knicks get Sessions and Williams as reported. We can send them Scal, TA, plus a future pick, probably 2010 and get Duhon. Duhon is the perfect back-up point in our system. We don't really need another draft pick on this veteran-heavy team and would really balance our roster. It would look like this:

Perk,KG,Sheed,Baby,Landlord,Swift
Pierce,Ray,Daniels,Walker,Giddens
Rondo,Duhon,House,Hudson

any takers?

He would make a nice backup.

Duhon would be a great backup for Rondo and the trade you suggested could make sense for both teams (the Knicks would get ride of an expiring contract to acquire multiple expiring contracts and thus solidify their rotation).

I would be glad if we could get Duhon but I just don't see this scenario happening.

I'd do it. He'd be a great backup ... .and wouldn't have a temperamental ego like Marbury... .

However, if all else fails, I'm still happy bringing Marbury back.

I don't think the Cs can trade the 2010 pick since they traded the 2009 pick.  Could trade the 2011 pick, I believe.

I like Duhon, but I wouldn't do the trade.  I think expiring contracts like Allen's and Scal's will be valuable, and I think the Cs can find a serviceable enough PG (Cs only need someone who is competent for 5-10 mins a game -- giving up a future 1st rounder seems a steep price to pay for a one year rental of such a player).

Well when I posted it on the RealGM Knicks board they loved the idea. I don't see better options honestly..

Well maybe a second rounder then. We could resign him for a friendly number to play 15 minutes behind Rondo for the next few years. Rondo only averaged 33 min a game last year..

I think the rule applies only for future picks, so I think the 2010 one may be considered current, so it can be traded. Not sure though. Maybe if it's on draft night. Too lazy to look up the specifics at the moment.

In any case, I think it would be wiser in the long run to sign a player like Anthony Carter to the LLE (or has he been signed?) or a player like Lue or Knight to the vet min (even though they are not that popular on this board).

Strange as it sounds, I'd hate to lose Scal but I'd probably do it, Duhon is nice.

With the Landlord and probably Baby in the fold, Scal will never see the court..

Maybe Scal is the back up PG, he's been right under our noses all along.

I wouldn't give them anything more than a second rounder in that package, but if they would take it (which I don't think they would), then I would jump at it.  I wouldn't give up a first rounder for Duhon however.  He would just be a luxury, and is not really the personality this team needs.

With the Landlord and probably Baby in the fold, Scal will never see the court..

That's what we say every year, and every year, Scal plays a big role in helping us win some games.  He is not someone you want to count on as a rotation player, but he is very valuable at the end of the roster, because he can really help out in the case of injuries.

I would trade him immediately if we got a legit rotation player back though.

LOL, Seriously Scal will only see the court in the event of a serious injury to a key big, which probably means we're not winning a title anyway. Scal's role is gone..
