TA gets way more grief than he should. Reminds me of Doc Rivers a few seasons ago, Danny Ainge a few seasons ago, Brian Scalabrine a couple of seasons ago. There needs to be at least one guy that takes the heat universally far in excess of what he deserves. TA is a deficient basketball player -- that's why he makes role player money and plays few minutes. He is impulsive on the court, he turns the ball over too often and his head is often not where it should be. However, he offers an occasional great slash to the hoop, an occasional heads-up pass, an occasional aggressive rebound, an occasional steal by anticipating the passing lane, and an occasional fine defensive stand. He is also one of the more animated and upbeat players on the bench -- supporting and cheering his teammates.
TA is not consistent and is only occasionally a positive contributor, but he is hardly the horrific mess that he is made out to be in this thread. He does earn more than he should (for 1 more year), and while I don't hold out great hope that he'll have any type of a resurgence in his career, I do suggest that there is a chance that he'll be recovered enough from injuries this year to gain back some of his lost confidence and hops. I don't really care if he's with the C's or not, but if he is, he'll do occasional minimal harm and occasional minimal good -- he's just a guy on the team, no need for the bashing he gets.
