Only giving up Masterson and Hagadone, means that if we wanted to we could still grab Halladay.
I wonder who is going to replace Masterson in the pen? Bowden?

Fernando Cabrera id assume.

I do think the Sox now will make one last push for Halladay, that owuld be a dream scenerio though lol.

If the Sox also landed Halliday -- I'd be off the walls!
Still a sap for my kids -

I would not be surprised if they go after a lefty specialist to fill Masterson's spot.  The only lefty they have out there is Oki, and he is possibly worse against righties than lefties.  Maybe that is what they are looking for in a Laroche deal.

That's an old tweet.  It seems like he has adjusted it since then.

2:55 p.m.: ESPN's Peter Gammons confirms that Hagadone and Masterson "are involved" in the deal, but doesn't confirm that the deal is done, just that trade talks are heating up.

CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

1:55pm: From Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports: the Dodgers are making a run at Gonzalez and Bell (separately or together); they could send James Loney to San Diego in such a deal.

funny, I was wondering about Masterson the other day.  It seemed weird to cultivate a top prospect to be a middle man.

He just cant get out lefties, so he is limited as a starter. And as a reliever his control isnt very good and still cant get out lefties. I think he was pretty overrated, so i dont care if he is gone.

I think the problem with Masterson is that he shows the ball too much.

his stuff is nasty and he should be tougher to hit than he is....

I think Gammons is just sour that he didnt get the trade first and is now saying its not quite done

First baseman Adam LaRoche becomes expendable for Boston if they complete the Victor Martinez trade; Jon Heyman of SI tells us via Twitter that the Braves are interested.  LaRoche came up with the Braves; they traded him to Pittsburgh for Mike Gonzalez in '07.

Well, the guy who did get the trade first is saying the same thing.  I think its still a work in progress.

You really think he'd adjust what he reported because he didn't get it first?

Id now go to the Blue Jays and offer Buchholz/Ellsbury/Doubrant for Halladay/Rios. Itd be nice to finish the deadline with

Out:Hagadone/Masterson/Buch/Ellsbury/Pimantel
In: V-Mart/Halladay/Rios

But i really dont think Halladay gets dealt now.

Definitly do, I think they do this all the time, if you dont get the story first tweak it a little bit then say you got it
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16
