Well, I buy that they are still interested in him, I just don't think they have what it takes to get Davis, without involving a 3rd team. For example, they could send Kwame or Maxiell (who I can't see the C's too interested in) to a third team, who are either under the cap, or have a trade exception (Miami could be an interesting option for Kwame with their trade exception, or Maxiell to Portland), sending a draft pick or something to Boston.
Ultimately, I don't think Boston makes a sign and trade for Baby, unless they get something more significant back.
Why would they make the move for WIlcox then? I think this is coming from Baby's agent trying to stir the pot. He's got no options and its getting on in time.
Because Detroit has no clue what they are doing? Seriously, from where I am standing, Dumars looks like a blind guy with hooks for hands, trying to put together a puzzle. He is just grabbing pieces, and throwing them at each other, hoping they will fit.
But yeah, you are probably right that it is coming from the Agent, but I am not putting anything past Dumars right now.
I'd take Maxiell over Davis in a heartbeat.
Maxiell is a wrecking ball in the paint and havoc on the boards. Strong as a bull, and can jump and finish down low. He's everything Davis isn't.
Davis can knock down the open jumper. That's the only skill that Maxiell doesn't have.
That's fine. But I would rather have Joe Smith for the minimum, than either of them at $5 million a year for 4 years.
