I am almost positive that you could not have been a celtics fan pre-rayray/Kg trade and claim that Pierce is a less likable guy than Brian Scalabrine.

Do they call Scal "THE TRUTH"?

No, that is what we call El Capitan.
Even though you said some questionable things about him being in a car accident I agree with you here.
Most Celtics fans hated Scal when the team was bad. Scal is a hustle player that plays well in small amounts of times as an ancillary piece with good players. He was not liked when they were bad, so to say he's more well liked than PP is crazy.
Really?  Cause I've probably seen every game since Scal joined this team, and i loved him back when we sucked.  I disagree, the guys who only started watching games after the Big 3 that hate Scal because he's largely overshadowed by our now good team.  Most true fans recognize his skills and acknowledge his contributions.  Whether or not you like him or if you think he's overpaid, that's up to you.

I thought he´s just on the team because he´s a white red-head (see: Swift, Robert).
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Scal is one of the worst players on the roster.

Imagine that. The 12th guy on a championship team is one of the worst guys on the roster. Wow. Who would have ever thought it... Let's put into perspective here what standard we are holding the guy to.

What other standard should we use?

So you agree with me, yet found my situational analogy of the car accident questionable? You realize I was basically making the exact same point with said analogy right?
The car accident point was not stating that you thought Scal was worthless as a player, it was saying you think he's worthless as a human being. That's messed up.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

How was I saying he was worthless as a human being? I said I would be more concerned with the captain of the team than scalabrine.

I don't pretend to know them in real life. They are players on a team that I root for.

Not sure how you managed to distort what I said that badly in your mind.

Hilarious and true. Let's be real, if we have any type of forward depth he's our 12th man. Who misses the 12th man for their play? Most teams don't use their 12th man until garbage time...so what would we be so bummed about with losing Scalabrine?

He's a great person, but making out to be "more likeable" than Paul Pierce, the captain of so long, is ludicrous. We're talking about basketball players here, not drinking buddies. I have a feeling that If Scal is more likable to you, its for a reason completely unrelated to basketball. I can see why the Boston fan base can relate to him as a person. It just HAS to affect some poeple whether they realize it or not.

He's scored 4pts per game for his career and doesn't rebound, like at all.

To call something the saddest day of your life is pretty out there when it's not the loss of a child, spouse or other loved one.  I now there may be a bit of sarcasm in this thread, but can this be one of the most exagerration threads ever?  Methinks yes.

1. Powe wasn't signed to a bloated contract that dragged like an anchor.

2. When Powe got the ball I didn't say "Uh oh!"

3. Powe fought his way through great personal and physical adversity to be one of the most effective players on our bench.

4. Powe has never had his big payday.

5. Powe went off for 30+ in a game last year filling in for KG.

6. Powe tried to play though a career threatening injury for us.

Hell yeah I'll sign a petition for that guy.  Sorry but this comparison is ludicrous!

Ugh no it's not IMO.  I love the 3 million dollar anchor comment. Are people still trying to pass that off around here as logical?

Powe played in NBA and made a boat load of cash and people cried when Danny made business decision.  It's actually still going on as well.  I still see some posters commenting about keeping Powe around just in case.

7. Powe was a primary reason we won Game 2 of the Finals. Scal didn't dress in the Finals when we made it there.

I love Scal, and love the fact that he's one of those players who's better on a good team than on a bad team (i.e., antithesis of Tony Allen). I love the hustle, the effort, the idea of putting team and defense first, which he does. But Leon is just a far far better player.
Go Celtics.

I'd sure love to have 3 mil hanging around to sign a backup PG right now, and the contract was for 5 **** years.  I understand the argument to cut him loose now that he's injured, but I think it's terrible form, and signing Powe to a 1 year rehab deal is the least the org can do to reward his faithful service to the team IMO.

No one in their right mind signs someone just in case they come back healthy from the knee injury when they had knee injuries in their past.  This isn't CYO.

Sorry for going on anti-powe rant.

Healthy Powe >>>>>>>>>>>>> Healthy Scal

Yeah but that's not the case.

Scal is an NBA player, amazingly. His contract stinks, but for his role, he's great. Doesn't demand PT, or tons of shots, just a chance to play..
