Rotoworld has learned that Antoine Walker was arrested Wednesday night at Harrah's Casino in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

The charges stemmed from over $800,000 in gambling debts. He was led out of the high stakes area in handcuffs by Douglas County police in front of a celebrity-heavy crowd. Walker was in Tahoe to play in the American Century Classic, a celebrity golf tournament. Walker is currently in a Douglas County jail. Bail has been set at $87,000.

I'm sure it was completely unnecessary to remove him in handcuffs. But, in case you haven't noticed, cops almost always use excessive force/means when arresting someone.  It's just another way for the to flex thier "muscle", show how tough they are, or justify their otherwise meaningless existence


Hopefully Antoine can make some changes, because he isn't a bad guy, and everyone deserves a second chance

One other thing, although his game wasn't perfect while here, I would argue that no one wanted to win more than this guy.  I was at games in the late 90's where this guy was visibly crying becasue of losing.  Say what you will, but he showed a lot more passion for being a celtic, than a lot of guys before him and since he played

These are just procedures the Police does in order to keep their own safety.  You never know what people do in these circumstances. Bookkeepers have their procedures, bus drivers etc etc. Besides, there are some weird people in the US that would have reacted different from Employee´s #8 action.  Walker could have done a good job for us though......

and it was kinda crazy how his vertical just disappeared a few years ago. like, disappeared. when he'd jump i'm not sure his toes would fully make it off the ground.

There's a thread in the Current Events forum talking about people being embarrassed over Al Franken making a joke.

To me this is embarrassing. Antoine has a lot of very loyal and vocal fans and he embarrassed himself getting into this situation. I hope he gets the help he needs for his gambling problem.

What the hell was he doing at a casino when it was a national story this week that he owed almost a million?  To me that screams gambling problem more than anything.  I hope he can turn himself around before we see him shimmying off to prison.
