Now this is truly good news.  It seemed everything was going LA's way for the last year and a half.  I hope Odom leaves or at least hurts their financial flexibility in years to come.

Excellent........
Too bad the Lakers wouldn't do a sign and trade with him. How about we do one with a team like the grizz who are under the cap. He could back up Pierce.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Well seeing how this offseason has been going, he will end up with the Magic.

Or Cleveland or San Antonio... seems like this upcoming season there are going to be 5 elite teams WAY ahead of all other teams

It's posturing.  I wouldn't read too much into this.

The only thing that will hold up Odom returning to the Lakers is the ego of Odom.  Otherwise, he's playing for the Lakers next year.

I don't blame his ego though, because there's a difference between someone's ego, and what the market dictate's your ego to be. If Hedo gets a 11mill contract, 10mill for Bargnani, and an 8 year offer for Milsap, I think Odom can fairly say he deserves 9-10 mill especially after his play in the playoffs. He's got a similar skillset to hedo and is as good as if not better than him.

If the rumours are true though, Milsap will be matched, and I believe Portland's next target is Odom since they don't want to match David Lee's price tag (and Odom fits better since he's a 3/4 while Lee is a 4/5)

I really hope the Blazers offer him a deal after Millsap's offer gets matched.

Excellent........

First of all, TP for your avatar.
Second of all,
No way they win the championship without Odom. YES!!!!
I disagree, I don´t think there is ``no way´´ they can win the Championship.  The lakers are going to be an incredibly difficult team to beat with or without Odom.  And since they are the last ones to win the championship they are still the team to beat.  More than losing Odom though, I wonder about their chemistry and if it will be a detriment to their pursuit of a second banner.

Thirdly,
It's posturing.  I wouldn't read too much into this.

The only thing that will hold up Odom returning to the Lakers is the ego of Odom.  Otherwise, he's playing for the Lakers next year.

I agree with both of you, it is just posturing and things can turn around in a second.  There aren´t a lot of teams out there with lots of money to spend and the ones that do have it haven´t expressed any interest in Odom.  Odom is on a equal plain or better than all of those guys (Hedo, Bargnani, Milsap, Lee) and deserves a better contract.  He´s also the only one with a Ring.

Well seeing how this offseason has been going, he will end up with the Magic.

Am i the only one who thinks Orlando got worse.

they lost

Turkgolu a 6'10 guy who can handle the ball shoot the lights out and is clutch and got back an ageing vince carter. I'd prefer the Turk everytime and he was instrumental against the celtics and the Cavs in the playoffs because he was such a mismatch

Lee, a promising rookie

Alston a starting quality pg

and Battie who at this stage is not a great loss

they get back bass, carter and ryan anderson.

How the hell did they get better? i think these moves are really overhyped
