The fact is, it is in Baby's best interest to keep shopping and see if someone will give him an offer sheet for what he wants.  If not, he can come back to Boston.

The celtics should not offer him anything until it's clear that there are no offers. That's the best bargaining chip they have. Worst case scenario is Big Baby takes the QO, plays his ass off this year. I don't see how that's a bad thing.

I'm not saying Detroit will offer $1.8. Most of their cap space was eaten up by Ben Gordon and Charlie V. I know they had some left over. So that amount plus the $1.8 may be able to secure BBD.

Well, obviously none of us know for sure what's been offered and what hasn't been, except I remember reading a Danny quote recently that said they were going to let the market play out before getting into it with him.  I don't know, I guess I'm just restless and want to get the roster figured out.  And 2.5 seems like a fair deal on both sides.

They've cleared 1.8 in additional cap space. They currently actually have about 1 million in cap space assuming Charlie V and Ben Gordon's contracts are not backloaded. If they are they may have even mor.e
