That looks extremely fake. If it's real, I'll be shocked. There's no way any NBA player posts pity messages on their twitter and expect it to up their values. It has to be a poser.

Just a question, why don't the celtics go ahead an offer him a 2.5 mill contract for a few seasons and see if he bites?  There is all this talk about letting the market play out, but Baby at 2.5 mill would be a great deal.

I mean are they holding out because they think they can get him for even cheaper than that?  I don't know, but I'd like this situation to be resolved.  It's now officially the leading annoying storyline of the offseason since the "is grant hill coming to Boston" storyline is finally finished.

You must not be on Twitter then. All of the players on Twitter post nonsense all the time. I really believe it is a negotiating ploy. Drew Rosenhaus is notorious for throwing stuff out on Twitter to get the ball rolling. I really believe it is legit. Look at his previous postings too. Do not knock it. I think my source here is more reliable then Gary Tanguay. I predict that tonight on Comcast Tanger will be reporting this story about BBD Twitter page!

I will do my best to try to translate:

t_time24 @bigbabybball say dog what we said this weekend (Baby and Ty were obviously talking about his free agent status this weekend)? IT GETS BETTER (I know you want to go back to Boston and it looks like it may no happen)... note to world: control what YOU can control (If the Celtics don't want to pay you what you think your worth look at your other options and decide)... The rest ain't your beef (You can't make the Celtics pay you what you want so if you get more elsewhere take it if you think the situation is right)!

thanks, TP for the translation

Who says they haven't?  And why would Davis take it right now anyways.

The fact is, it is in Baby's best interest to keep shopping and see if someone will give him an offer sheet for what he wants.  If not, he can come back to Boston.

The celtics should not offer him anything until it's clear that there are no offers. That's the best bargaining chip they have. Worst case scenario is Big Baby takes the QO, plays his ass off this year. I don't see how that's a bad thing.

Wojo is reporting:

YahooSportsNBA The Pistons have traded Arron Afflalo and Walter Sharpe to Denver for a future 2nd rounder, clearing $1.8 million in space, a source says.

Could Detroit be clearing that space for Baby?

I agree. Do we know if this means they have 1.8 mil in space, or 1.8 mil MORE than whatever they had before?

I'm not saying Detroit will offer $1.8. Most of their cap space was eaten up by Ben Gordon and Charlie V. I know they had some left over. So that amount plus the $1.8 may be able to secure BBD.

Well, obviously none of us know for sure what's been offered and what hasn't been, except I remember reading a Danny quote recently that said they were going to let the market play out before getting into it with him.  I don't know, I guess I'm just restless and want to get the roster figured out.  And 2.5 seems like a fair deal on both sides.

They've cleared 1.8 in additional cap space. They currently actually have about 1 million in cap space assuming Charlie V and Ben Gordon's contracts are not backloaded. If they are they may have even mor.e
