Gortat is not happy to be backing up Howard; but look at the money he will get. BBD may not be happy about it; but that is life. The fact that Milsap and Bass all went before him (both undersized bigs) means he will not get his big payday anytime soon.

Hey guys as you know Twitter is the new thing. Well I follow Big Baby and based on his latest string of Tweets this morning, it appears like his days as a Celtic may be coming to an end. He goes as far as to say that he feels he is not important to the Celtics, but he was important when Leon and KG went down. I don't know how I feel about him taking shots at the organization. Its a fact of life. They wanted and needed to get Rasheed Wallace. All of their focus was going towards getting him under contract. Now they are looking to fill out the roster. Heck, DA drafted Baby in the 2nd round and gave him a shot. If you feel like you are not going to get enough money here, then just say thanks and move on. Here is the link:

Feel free to follow me at WAD1980
If it's true then the Celtics are gonna get a rep for making guys feel not wanted.
It's more than likely some stupid publicity thing though.

Or Big Baby will get a rep for living up to his nickname and not understanding that the NBA is a business first. Seriously, if that's his real twitter, then he needs to get a grip. First of all, he was the one who went around spouting that he thought he might get a starting role and big bucks somewhere. He's just whining because he's not as valuable on the market as he thought he was, and he's trying to get pity bucks out of the Cs. I love Davis as a player. He showed a lot of hustle and effort this year. But if this is the way he's going to act, then it looks like he, not Rondo, is the one that has growing up to do.

Sign and trade. Baby has reached his peak. Sign and trade him for a nice back up 2/3 and sign a lengthy PF at the LLE to be the 9th man.

i don't think i would pay baby 4 mil a year to come off the bench

not when we're paying sheed 5.8, and still need a better wing and point backup

This waiting game is killing me. I have the feeling Danny wants to wait out the baby situation first, while all the other guards are slipping, and we all know RFA waiting games can turn into disasters.
Why wait for baby? I see no reason why he would wait for Baby when Baby might not get an offer at all, like Varejao the previous year.

That would mean a really long wait.

"now they don't want to pay me"????

A professional athlete during negotiations says this?  I doubt this.  If it was him, Danny should strap on his kicking boots right now and punt.

next I will invent a GG twit and say
Cs are actively after me now they miss GHill :D
;D

Is there a point where Glen Davis threatens to be a potential malcontent who won't be happy with the minutes of being the second big off the bench that it's not worth signing him?  I'd worry if there were certain matchups which suggested that he be benched in favor of Scalabrine.

Sounds like Danny is going to have to decide on BBD very soon! I had a feeling that the Piston's were clearing space for him.

So be it. We will match anyway.

depends on what they offer, i think the celtics privately have a number they are willing to match up to.

I hope it's not more than 3.5 million.

I would give Baby 4 million per, at most.

He has more upside than Veal so he should get a more lucrative deal than Veal got.

I would jump at the opportunity to trade him for Kwame, who they could combine with Tony and Scal for a better contract.  But more likely, if there were a sign and trade, it would be for nothing more than a trade exception for the C's.

Roy, do you know if the C's were to trade Davis to Detroit at $3.6 million (if that is what they have left under the cap), for a heavily protected second rounder, how big would the TPE be?  Would it be the entire $3.6 million, or would it be for $1.8 million, because of his base year status?
