Matt Barnes, Jamario Moon, Bruce Bowen (maybe), Darius Miles, Udoka, Gerald Green. Only ones I can think of. Our options aren't that great... at all. Which is why it would greatly help our team to sign Hill.

Bowen, Miles, Green.

All guys you mentioned who are probably worse at this point than the young guys we already have.

They were posted multiple times in the Grant Hill Tanguay thread.

Latest news is we'll know what Hill's decision is tomorrow and it could be any one of Boston, Phoenix, or New York.

we could always look at the d-league or overseas. Jamario Moon looks like a steal as a person who was in the CBA.

His choices appear to honestly be down to boston and new york.
I'm sorry, but I really can't see how this is a choice?
boston is ready to win now and last time i checked, hill doesnt have a ring. he wont get it in new york, and will likely end his career ringless if he goes there.
the money isn't the issue either... hes got plenty, 2 mil here or there aint gonna kill him.

so what is it grant? do you really want to retire ringless? because thats what will undoubtedly happen if you chose new york.
Ive always respected you as a good ambassador of the game, a real role model, but if you dont care about a ring, all that respect can go out the window.
make your choice grant...

We forget that if it was real life, things like 2 million dollars do weigh in on the decision.

The reason why I personally wouldn't hate Grant Hill on an objective level is that he's getting more than just money.
- More minutes and more than likely a starters role
- Plays for the system he likes under a coach he really respects
- Appeases his wife.

I really wish he came to Boston. But if he went to NY, for those 3 reasons and 2 million, I don't think I could blame him too much. Especially with Hill saying that because he's missed so much game time that he'd love to play as much as possible, I think the starting job would be a big deal to me.

But here's hoping the ring comes first.

No offense, but I hope Grant's not making his decision based on keeping your respect. Grant Hill's 37 and has a wife and kids. If he chooses another team it's not because he "doesn't care about a ring" it's because he made that decision for family reasons. People do it all the time. Likewise his wife might tell him this morning that he should go to Boston. Wives make sacrifices too. We shall see, but I'm not going to be one of these crazy fans who will boo him if he doesn't choose us. If anything that represents on Boston poorly.

I was just about to post a similar thread.

The point here is that if Hill is even contemplating more money for a playoff-less season in New York and Phoenix then he really is not the type of player you want in Green.

Listening to Sheed's press conference was a breath of fresh air. Comments like "if i need to come off the bench, ill do it" ,"winning is the only thing"

If Grant Hill's wife wears the pants in his relationship and he'd rather give up a shot at a ring so that his wife can make it in music, then i'm sorry but that shows he is not a true winner.

He has never been out of the first round of the playoffs, and Boston is offering him a legitimate title shot and he wants to move to the lottery bound knicks or stay with the lottery bound Suns. Give me a break

Yeah, what Rasheed said is just what we need in a free agent acquisition (which is why I have it quoted in my signature).  If Grant Hill would rather play in New York for more money and a starting gig on a crappy team predicated on not playing defense, then he's probably not the type we want.

If he elects to stay in Phoenix, well, at least we can hope it's because he's comfortable there and would rather not leave.

Hopefully he comes to Boston. It's a short flight to NYC, not like it is Portland vs NY. But, if the guy wants his family to be happy and see them every night, well, is that really so awful? I love how everyone wants to jump on his wife as wearing the pants, etc. They've been married for 10 years, somehow I think his basketball career has already come first a few times.

Hey I respect guys that want to win at all costs as much as the next guy, but it's ok to prioritize your family once in a while too.

Pop quiz:  Between Grant Hill and his wife, which one has probably sacrificed more for their spouse's professional career?

If you have a brain, you know the answer is Grant Hill.  If his wife is serious about making it in music, and truly believes that being in New York is a necessary step to make it in the biz, more power to Grant for being the big enough man to make that concession to his wife.

So Hills going to make the decision tonight

From what Ive heard? I'd rather it come sooner than later so we can move on and get this ball really rolling in the right direction.
