  • Rondo = Good
Match the contract: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3smxdUWquM

Sheed could have made that shot too, and he'd be playing in that situation...

So, yeah, BBD is worth a few mil.  So what?

a couple of things. First with Sheed and Hill and vet PG, the Celtics will be hugely over the cap. The situation has changed financially for all the teams and the Celtics owners are carrying a big debt load with hyperinflation around the corner. As much as I like BBD, a lower price option may come from the Celtic's summer team in Smith, Sweetny or Faseakas.
Like I mentioned in another thread, the spurs remember the defensive job that BBD did on Duncan.

Well if the contract isn't crazy, wouldn't Baby remain a good asset for a future trade?

i say if it is in the 3 mil range a year you have to match it

Agreed. We need as many quality players as possible, it gives us some youth, plus we all love him now after the play-offs.  ;D

Love the fact that Sheed is comin here and Grant Hill is pretty much on his way... but UUUUUGGGGHHHHH I REALLY WANT BIG BABY TO STAY AND THE CELTICS BETTER MATCH ANY OFFER FROM THE SPURS (unless it is the full MLE)!

I don't think they have anyone they'd trade for BBD. They already moved Bowen/Olberto, those were the two loose change parts they could afford to give up.

George Hill would be great to backup Rondo and go along Grant. ;D

Seriously though a sign and trade won't happen because the Spurs have nothing to offer us, they already have almost no bench.

I'm still not sold on this report. I haven't heard any concrete offers on BBD. I also don't think he'd be SA's first choice now that Sheed is off the table.

I still think BBD will be back. Tanguay is getting pretty cocky, and it seemed more like speculation than actual facts. He says he doesn't thing the celts will wanna pay him more than 3 mill. The c's told wallace that they were willing to spend money to help bring in a championship, this would be a bad signal to him.
