your friends 9-11 and 13-15 to spell Allen Iverson?  As JSAAD says, lets put some players to those numbers
Rd 9- Chris Douglas Roberts
Rd 10-Etan Thomas
rd 11- Donyell Marshall
Rd 13- Carlos Delfino
rd 14-Alexander Johnson
rd 15- Nick Fazekas

Those are the 1st overall picks from the rounds you mentioned last year.  who there is going to save you if your first pick is a bust?

Well thank god I don't have the first pick in any of those rounds!

Guys taken middle to late in each round:
9:Jason Thompson, Roger Mason Jr, Courtney Lee
10:Chris Andersen CJ Miles
11: Deandre Jordan, George Hill, Keith Bogans
13:Jose Barea
14...ah I don't care anymore.

Those picks do matter though.

So you are depending on 4 rounds in which you managed to pick 9 players that overachieved this year.  Thats a good strategy.  Unless other people think those players will be good too
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

George Hill is a stud backup for where he was picked...

This is why we are going the voting again later in the year.

Bulls trade: 1st rounder (19), 2nd rounder (12), 11th rounder (1), 11th rounder (21) and 12th rounder (12)

Memphis trades: 1st rounder (9), 3rd rounder (9), 7th rounder (9) and 13th rounder (9)

This is a great trade by Chicago, and not only because they are afraid to draft behind Houston. It is also one I'm sure Memphis is going to regret. I'd like the deal a lot better for the Grizzlies if they'd hung on to 3 (9), had sent back a 5th rounder.

Sonics GM Hoyo de Monterrey's Twitter page, updated 11:34 AM:

"Huge front office hiring... Flying back to Seattle with new Special Assistant to the GM, should arrive around 1:30 at KeyArena."

The Sonics GM was recently on scouting trips and made stops in Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Amager, Denmark. No one is saying who the new assistant is, but he is confirmed to be on the plane, and will be revealed to the media when the plane lands in Seattle.

SVPICOBGP Gary Payton's Twitter page: "Toronto are you kidding me?!?! Hey I'll sell you my Finals MVP trophy for $4 grand... cuz you prob don't care that I don't got one to sell."
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Denver is interested in selling it's two 6th rounders (3rd and 4th) for a 4th rounder (and probably a later pick)

Also, would be willing to move two 8s (3rd and 4th) for a 6 (and probably a later pick).

Also willing to part with a 10th and 12th for a 9th.

I agree he is a stud backup for where he was picked im just saying, going back through it look at the 11th round.

able to pick out 3 players that were good and did something this year.

So for 27 teams last year, that round didnt matter that much.  And I still have yet to see a player that makes up for a bad 1st pick

Basically, my point is that I have just as much pressure as everyone else in this draft to make a good first pick.  Infact I probably have less pressure than most because I have two first round picks.  But as much as people may love those late picks and taking flyers on players there.  Nobody in those rounds will be able to make up for a bad 1st pick

You're killin me smalls...

Yes, if you pick a player who greatly underachieves or is injured for the entire season (lets say Brand and Iverson here), then there are very few ways you can come back from that. Almost none.

My assets:2(14), 2(16), 3(17), 4(14), 4(16), 5(10), 5(17), 5(19), round 7 pending trade approval, 9(17), 10(14), 11(17), 13(17), 14(14), 15(17)

That's 8 picks in the first 5 rounds, but no pick before the 44th in the draft. Take what you can get I suppose.

I like where your at, but there is a TON of pressure not to take the wrong guy ;)

You should meet my friends 9 thru 11 and 13 thru 15. They'll save me if I take Allen Iverson with a top pick...

THat was said tongue in cheek. My 2 2's, 4's, and 3 5's will hopefully save me from Allen Iverson. I can only hope anyways..

Mavs got decent value, but with most trades, I think the team that gets the highest pick wins. Hat tip to Chicago.

Boston -- (AP) - The Celtics are looking to move down from 2 (26) and will send cash considerations (TP's) for every reasonable offer.

The Bulls are willing to move their coveted 3.1 and some of their plethora of mid draft picks for a higher pick. PM with offers.
