If a real NBA team did something like that, they'd get a horrible reputation that would hurt the franchise. NBA teams cut players in training camp to give them an opportunity to catch on with another team, or waive players while they are still playoff eligible. We're talking about 14th and 15th rounders. Most likely young players. I think its unfair to not give them an opportunity to catch on with another team if you have no use for them. That's my 2 cents on that.
Ha! Fair and true. But to play devil's advocate, most veteran starters, particularly those with on eye on their next contract, aren't going to be happy or much willing to take 20 min reserve roles...
That said, my compliments to you on the job you've done working the phones. And I'm also really enjoying KC's plan to deprive the rest of the league of bench depth. (After all, he's just playing the games according to the rules as they've been given. Right?)
I think we should have an initial winner, then an All-star break winner, then a full season winner, with different awards for each.
