ya but sliding up in the first round is worth a whole hell of alot more than in the 2nd and 4th round.

And JR if you want a rivalry you got it.  I envision something like the Lakers and Clippers.  The Clippers hate the Lakers, But we(Lakers) love it when we play the clippers

FYI,  I almost threw up comparing myself to the lakers but it was the best i could come up with at the time
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

We'll just stick with the Chicago/Toronto rivalry. Toronto is a nice city. Many players are telling us they prefer Chicago though and the lower taxes... not to mention the Will Solomon autographed recliners of course. The Bulls ownership respects the Mark Cuban maverick style of the Raptors ownership and what it has accomplished so far. It will only make it sweeter for the Bulls when they finish out on top of the Raptors.

Think Bulls= 2004, 2007 Red Sox
Raptors= Big bad super payroll 2004, 2007 Yankees... but you don't even get to live in NYC :P

Long live the rivalry!

Last season the price to move up in the top half of the 1st round was costly. Often probably too costly.

The most reasonable price was likely Charlotte's 6th rounder.
Quote
Portland sends: 1st rounder (8 ), 4th rounder (23), 8th rounder (23)
Charlotte sends: 1st rounder (13), 4th rounder (20), 6th rounder (18 ), and 8th rounder (18 )

Then when Charlotte got to 11 they turned around and asked for a 2nd round pick for 8th round pick swap...
Quote
Charlotte sends:  1st rounder (11), 8th rounder (23), and 14th rounder (18 )
Denver sends:  1st rounder (17),  2nd rounder (14), and 15th rounder (17)

And Roy was willing to ask for more.
Quote
Portland sends: 1st rounder (13)
Sacramento sends: 1st rounder (16), 4th rounder (15), 6th rounder (15)

Don charged a pretty penny too...
Quote
Boston sends: 1st rounder (10), 2nd rounder (21), 5th rounder (10), 6th rounder (21), and 9th rounder (10)
Detroit sends: 1st rounder (12) 3rd rounder (12) 3rd rounder (22) 5th rounder (22) 8th rounder (9) and 9th rounder (22)

From the Seattle Supersonics Public Relations Department:

PARTIAL PRESS CONFERENCE TRANSCRIPT: 7/14/09

HDM: "Thank you all for coming this evening. To answer two pressing questions up front, Yes, we're late, and no, we don't care. Today is a big day for us as an organization, and feel that we have taken steps to better ourselves as an organization through the tireless efforts of our various personnel. Season tickets, for the record, are still available. At this time, I would like to introduce our Vice President In Charge Of Being Gary Payton, Gary Payton, our Head Coach Tommy Heinsohn, and our Community Relations Director Shawn Kemp. I'd like to turn the microphone over to Community Relations Director Shawn Kemp, who will reveal why we've brought you all here today."

CRD Shawn Kemp: "Thanks, HDM. I'm pleased to announce a move the Sonics made today, a move that we feel will please our fans."

VPICOBGP Gary Payton: "Not as much as you pleased them here. Especially the ladies."

Kemp: "Which brings me to the point, thank you Gary. The Sonics marketing department has decided to unveil a special season ticket package today, where any young fan who can provide proof that he or she is a child of mine will get two free season tickets."

Payton: "Well there goes the rest. What's your backup plan for ticket revenue, boss?"

HDM: "We are pleased to offer this option to the youth of Seattle, many of whom we will now see at every home game. Each fan who redeems this offer is expected to register with our scouting department, where we will keep tabs on you until you can't jump anymore. Any further questions can be directed to Gary."

Reporter: "Was there a trade today involving the Sonics?"

Payton: "We traded a bunch of picks for a bunch of others. I gotta be honest, I wasn't really paying attention. Me, Ewing, and Isaiah were at the Gold Club. Starbury couldn't make it, but said he'd catch up with us later. Man you shoulda seen this one stripper man, she had..."

THE REST OF THIS TRANSCRIPT WAS NOT RELEASED BY THE SONICS PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Seattle sends: 1st rounder (15th), 2nd rounder(46th overall), and 4th rounder (106th)

Sacramento sends: 1st rounder (10th), 2nd rounder (51st overall), and 4th rounder (111th)

I don't think Sacramento got tremendous value here.

So people have wised up? We have a saying where I'm from. "Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice... well I don't know, but we've learned from last year's fleecings."

For every seller, there's a buyer willing to pay that price, I guess.

Toronto is definitly the rouge franchise of the Fake NBA. I may have to start a rivalry even though we're in separate conferences.

I'm glad I'm not in the West, I would not want to travel to Buffalo for an inter conference battle with the Braves.

Man, that beauty was a real work of art.  Lots of negotiations on both sides.

I wish someone could dig up my multiple three team trades from Year One.

Vice President In Charge Of Being Gary Payton, Gary Payton

Hoyo,

Just in case I'm fired after the draft, I'm sending over my resume now. I may not be much like Gary Payton, but am willing to work at it. Regardless, I believe I can be an asset to the Seattle front office.

Yours truly,
The Walker Wiggle

Seattle has the best press conferences. I did hear a rumour that they may hire Cousy.

Actually, the more I look at it. That strikes me as an equitable trade for both sides. Forget what I said earlier.(I should make that my motto...)
