lol....I just got this weird flashback to the first time I played with action figures after I had just read "Indian In the Cupboard". If you don't get it, forget about it but that's hilarious.

Great reference, IP.

Do I have to watch the movie now to get the reference?  :-\  :(

lol....no. The book is about this magic cupboard that brings action figures or dolls etc...to life when you shut them in it and turn a magic key or something.

So it brought the idea to my 10 yr old head, 'what if my limited edition wolverine action figure is still Tee-d off that I slammed his right claw in the car door?' 'is it wierd to bring ninja turtles into the tub with me?'

I equated that to caring whether or not we give our 14th and 15th round players a fair shake at catching on with a team that needs them

I think we should have an initial winner, then an All-star break winner, then a full season winner, with different awards for each.

Great idea. I'm on board.

The Bulls would like to inform fake draftees that we will give you minutes on our team and if we don't have those minutes available for you, we will either trade you or release you, so you have an opportunity with another team. We will not "slam your right claw in a car door" by holding onto you past the point of opportunity to catch onto another team. We care about our players. Each fake player is getting a 26in HDTV ready computer LCD in their locker, with celticsblog.com as their home page. You will also get each get a Will Solomon autographed recliner. Fake Chicago Bulls, where caring happens.

Me three, although I think Gainesville wants this just so he could prove how good Chauncey was last year. ;)

I will stop giving you TP's when my finger begins to hurt.

coming late to the debate but my feeling is that there was not enough attention paid to how players --- even guys from rounds 1-5 --- would fit together last year.

If there were questions about how KG, Ray and Pierce (or AI and Webber before them, and Kobe/Shaq/GP/Mailman, etc) would play together why wouldn't there be about 5 guys on 1 team that are all 24 and just made an allstar team...?

I view this game as (a) the greatest thing ever and (b) as an exercise not who can find the 12-15 best guys but who can make the best combo of 15 guys...

Depth is as important here as it is in the real NBA, IMO (see: Celtics, c. 2008; esp. OBryant, Patrick; Cassell, Sam)

Anyone who thinks the rounds 11-15 are irrelevant please PM me, we'll gladly take some more late round picks.

AP - Philadelphia - The GM of the 76ers would like to state if you are drafted to the 76ers, you are committed to that team, and if eventually released it will be after the deadline to join another NBA team, unfortunately.  However, you will be able to join the NBDL where you can showcase your well crafted talents for any NBA team to call you up for your shot.

5 TPs to all the participants of the 1st approved 3 team trade.

10 TPs to all the participants of the 1st approved 4 team trade.

Be creative and stop thinking so two-dimensionally.  ;)

It has been done in the past.  Lets see if it can be down this year.

I would be shocked if this happens before there are actual players involved.

The Memphis Grizzlies are reminding the other league GM's that they are listening to offers for the ninth overall pick. TP for even semi-legitimate offers.
