Ray for 8 million per x3 is more like it. Even 10-8-6 with last year being Ray's option and incentives to bump it to 8. Ray will not get more than the midlevel in a multi year deal next season. He may get 10 million for one from a cellar dweller at the most. He would have to like the longer term deal.
Rondo for 5/50 is good, but he will not see more than that on the open market for a first contract. Why not ask for a home town discount? 5/45 or something along those lines IMO.
Both of these guys are worth locking up long term, I do think the owners will hold a lot more leverage in the league for the next couple of years. The only big payouts over 15 million per, in the near future will be the Lebron, D Wade, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, type players.
There is not really a new Kobe, KG, Dirk, Duncan or Paul Pierce type player out there that can carry a team on their back right now. No one else comes to mind that fits that 20 million per neighborhood. Guys like Bosh, Melo and Amare will not break the 15 million per level IMO. They just arent that big of a difference maker on their own and have proven it.
