Interesting.
Appears that the NBA - and Celtics management - don't hold Rondo in the same esteem as the blog.
Well depends on the who you are talking about. A lot of people here think he should be untouchable. Others would move him for CP3/LeBron/Dwight and that is about it.
I think it is natural for any blog to over rate their subject team's players. Especially young ones that the team drafted and whom they have watched develop.
I believe it goes both ways. You have either players that are overvalued OR undervalued.
Ultimately, it is interesting to see what Detroit does. Do they clear more room off next year's cap when the best FA's are available OR do they try to fill the voids this year with second level guys like Shawn Marion and Ben Gordon.
By doing this trade, they could still sign Gordon AND have the flexibility to wait out next year for one of the potential stars if they hold off on Rondo.
Until Rondo is "traded", do we really know his value? I've heard his name associated with some deals I'd do and others I wouldn't consider.
Ray Allen, Shawn Marion OR Ben Gordon, Rajon Rondo AND the flexibilty to go after Chris Bosh next year
vs.
Hamilton, Prince, Stuckey, and the ability to secure Gordon OR Marion OR wait next year for Bosh.
