with all the talk of paul and ray playing too many minutes it is great to see Tony Allen play some good ball tonight. I know a lot of people will look at a few of the poor plays he made and a charge he had but gotta give him his credit for tonight.

8-14 from the field including a three 4 boards, 5 dimes including a pretty one to Mikki moore 3 steals, and a blocked shot. He had 2 turn overs but thats not bad since he played close to 40 minutes.

I'm excited to see him in the playoffs, always nice to have someone getting to the rim, and I like to say something nice about TA since so many people like to point out his negatives.

There were certainly a lot of positives about TA tonight.  Great to have him healthy again, and I look forward to watching him cause havoc for opposing teams in the playoffs.
Celtics fan for life.

Tony Allen is and always will be my favorite player.  He has swagger and his energy is awesome.  Look at the box score from Game 4 Finals last year.  Tony +10 in 2:14, it was the first time he played in the Finals and we were 10-0 with him on the court.

TA is BEAST. It def. makes me wonder why he isn't starting. IMO, for this last game, and a few games in Round 1, the bench should start, and the starters should be benched. No need to start them in easy Sixers' games.

Eddie House : RayRay
TA : Truth
Starbury : Rondo
Leon Powe : KG
BBD : Perkins

And use the remaining players as needed.

This is the perfect temporary starting line-up, IMO. Hope a similar rotation is used. This would also give the players PT and expose them. It would also give the players a chance to get hot.

I have mixed feelings about TA. But I can't deny his heart. Big'Ups to TA.

Glad to see some other TA fans in here. I am hoping that Doc completely commits to him in the playoffs because he plays much better with large amounts of minutes. He always played well as a starter although I am not suggesting that would be good Ray needs to stretch the floor.

If Tony could play close to the minutes Posey played last year in the playoffs he could not only bring a lot of energy but he could actually provide the offense that we saw tonight

lol at this entire post.  I don't mean to sound rude, but I really hope this was a joke.

TA played very well tonight, but his handle is as bad as ever.  Luckily, he only seemed to lose the ball in the open court (why, I have no idea...) and did well enough when he had the ball in traffic.  He's just an enigma to me in every facet of the game - on one play he'll anticipate a shot and end up with a spectacular block, and on the next he'll foul a guy on a head fake 30 feet from the basket.

i'll never get upset about an offensive foul when a player is getting to the hold and being aggressive, he showed us what he has tonight. now picture him doing that with the second unit when we play them in the first round.

another note: if we play chicago thats TA's hometown, so maybe he'll give us something good.

Well, as much as I dislike bench Tony, Starter Tony always plays well. I don't understand it, he's been a legit starter since day one, but he can never come off the bench.

I know it won't happen, and everyone shuns it and it's too late in the season for experiments, but I might not mind seeing Ray come off the bench and see how that goes for a while.

No joke there. Please. Elaborate.

And I meant start them in this last Wiz game and maybe the first couple (or just first) game in the 1st round against the Sixers to get used to playing and to get more PT.

We really need to get our starters rested, and I feel this is the most efficient way to do it.

Sorry if my suggestion was bad, though. Just throwing that idea out there. :\

i actually think that we could continue winning championships with
Rondo, TA, Pierce, KG, Perk. we may lose that outside scoring, but if Rondo can pick up his midrange shot enough to keep his drive honest we can make up for the rest due to TA's upgrade defensively over Ray. Plus we could have Ray as our babysitter in the second unit.

First of all, TA should not be starting, and the reason's name is Ray.  Since Ray has arguably been our best player for long stretches this year, I don't think that view needs any more defense.

Also, I don't mind if they play in the Wiz game - in fact, I support that.  But there's no way the bench players should be starting any games in the playoffs.  Every game matters in the playoffs.  If you remember, we were supposed to sweep the Hawks in last year's first round, and they ended up taking us to seven games.  What would have happened had we spotted them Game 1 to "rest our starters" or "see if somebody gets hot"?  In the short term we would have given them motivation, because that's basically a diss to their team - we're telling them that we think we're so much better that we can give them a game on our home court without putting the series in doubt.  In the long term, we would have been a first round exit because their win in Game 6 would have ended the series instead of just forcing a Game 7.

Take nothing for granted when every game counts.  We should be trying to win every game by 30, because every team will be trying to do the same to us.

Word, my bad. I forgot to take into account the it's the PLAYOFFS we're talking about, not a regular season game. Again, my bad.

That time is a few years from now.
