moore is a smart vet guy who does alot of things right. You all witnessed it tonight, yeah once again his rebound totals are low but he clogged the middle and boxed out perfectly at both ends. Also impressive how he calmed powe away from getting a technical. Joe Smith tonight looked like small potatoes to me compared to moore so we did sign the right player waived.

Marbury is also impressing me. I thought he was a selfish player but maybe the truth was that he was selfish back then and/or now just hated to lose and wanted to do anything to try to win.

He is not doing more than he is suppose to, taking good shots, playing solid defense, passing, setting picks etc.

Great pickups that i firmly believe will help us propel to another championship. I can't think of how the lakers nor the cavs have a better bench now.

Anyone think still danny didn't do enough to help with our depth?

They're going to be just fine.  Tonight, although solid, Joe Smith didn't make me pine for him to be with us.  At least we can say that right now, Mikki looks like the better FT shooter.  Joe's first was a complete brick.

I think Mikki continues to fit in very well. I have done a 180 on the guy. Loved his energy tonight, and good decision making. Marbury too. But Powe, man he was special.

When Marbury gets his legs underneath him and starts getting a bit more strength and lift in his shot, watch out. There are very few bench guards, even on the contending teams, that will be able to guard him. Add to that the fact that baby would be returning to the second unit and suddenly the second unit is looking deep against other teams.

Marbury playing near Starbury level with a BBD hitting his outside shot at 50%, Eddie playing in the natural SG position and Leon and Mikki doing what they do with the occasional Big Three member mixed in is suddenly a very, very encouraging sign.

Who's second team PG is going to give Marbury a hard time? Boobie Gibson? Anthony Johnson? Skip Murray? Jordan Farmar? George Hill? Are any of those guys that would be possibly matched up against Marbury for 12-18 MPG really going to be able to guard, stop, slow down or severly hinder an at full strength and condition Marbury?

Given who Marbury will be playing with, I like our backup PG and second team situations over most other teams now. If the defensive intensity that Eddie, BBD and Leon put forth every night rubs off on Marbury and he can get his offensive gamne back, I like our chances for number 18.

And perhaps once again there is something about putting on the Celtics uniform?  I think it matters, matters like it used to.

I agree with this. The main hole remains the backup 2/3 situation for defensive match ups. We really need Tony Allen healthy to guard the bigger 2s and 3s for our bench unit.

Yeah, I am really looking forward to that -- he should be just hitting his stride as the playoffs begin -- and it is going to be awesome (from a Cs perspective  ;) ).
Celtics fan for life.

Sweet Jesus, I hope they can play much better than this. Well, at least Marbury, who's clearly very rusty. I hope he has the time to get back in form till the playoffs and he definitely needs to pick up on defence, he's been horrific. Moore, yeah, not worthy to have better expectations, he's not doing much better than this in regards to defence and rebounding, he's doing what he supposed to do, so as long as he keeps making the midrange jumps at a decent rate and not turning over the ball he'll be fine. Not sure if it's enough to guarantee him a spot in the playoff rotation though.

Marbury should be able to shake off the rust by playoff time. I'm fine with Moore not playing in the playoffs. Depth that isn't necessary is fine by me!

Yeah, BBD has really become solid with that shot since Scal went down as well. If he brings that confidence back to the 2nd unit, you've got two bigs in BBD and Moore who can pick/pop and hit the open jumper, Eddie's range and Marbury's ability to shoot, penetrate and create.

I just hope they get and remain healthy and integrate these guys as efficiently as possible (and that includes learning the defense).

Both Marbury and Moore will play well enough to be in the playoff rotation.  Give them time.  They appear to be getting better with each game. 8)

When Moore and Marbury were on the floor together in the second quarter the C's expanded their lead. Same thing happened in the fourth quarter, although they were left in a little too long and the cavs crept back in. I think they are both playing well -- Marbury made two really nice feeds tonight. They are matching expectations.

Joe Smith completely dominated the Celtics all game. He was clearly the best choice out of all the free agents. I really feel like Smith is a future hall of fame player. We should sign Smith in the off season for the full MLE. I would personally offer him max money if it were possible. We just cannot afford to have Smith playing for other teams, and sticking it to us with his great play.
