Some people thought the Celtics should have signed this guy?  What a joke.  He stinks.  The entire theme of the second quarter tonight, in which the Celtics increased their lead from 9 to 23, was "abuse Chris Andersen."  Powe abused him, Pierce abused him, Ray Allen abused him....  Mikki Moore is an all-star compared to Andersen, who has virtually no discerible basketball skills, although he probably leads the league in ugly skinhead tattoos.

I'm Brick James and I support this message (at least what precedes Bizzaro-Brick's ellipsis).

Mikki Moore is as big a stiff.
God bless and good night!

Agreed.  He is a human pogo-stick, not a basketball player.  Maybe he's better than POB, but that doesn't mean he would be anywhere near the floor if he were on the C's.

Mikki Moore can chew gum and walk at the same time. Blount can't.

Mikki plays with energy and passion, Blount plays like his dog was just killed.

I play with energy and passion too.

He's still a 7 foot 200 pound stiff.
God bless and good night!

Blount and Moore are stiffs with a jump shot.  Anderson is a stiff without a jump shot.  As I said, Andersen has no discerible basketball skills other than being 6-11. Compared to Chris Andersen, Chris Dudley was a highly skilled player.

Birdman sucks, but after working him out they decided to sign  POB.  As bad as Birdman is, he isn't *that* bad!

true, birdman appears to have a pulse. I'll take a pogo stick over an inanimate object.

Yeah I always got a chuckle when his name was mentioned around here.  Cool doo though.... and no if the C's need to use Moore he would provide scoring around the hoop which is more (ha) than Birdman (ha) will ever provide.

Are you basing this just on last night's game?  I've watched Denver many times this year and Birdman has played very well.  Last night was just a bad game, not just for him, but their whole team (except Smith) played awful.  I wouldn't judge him on that one game.  Billups, Melo and Martin were just as bad and we know they are better than what we saw last night.

Andersen has filled a role on Denver this year, and has been pretty good.  His defense has been average, his rebounding has been good, and offensively, he contributes clean up points (and has a mediocre, BBD-like jumper).  He *absolutely* would have been a better signing than POB.  He's definitely worth the minimum salary that he's making.

And make no mistake, the Celtics passed on him in favor of POB.  I remember at the time that Andersen had a strong interest in Boston, and today's Globe seems to reiterate that:

Quote
The Celtics worked out 6-11, 228-pound center Chris Andersen in Boston during the offseason before opting to sign Patrick O'Bryant. While O'Bryant played sparingly before being dealt to Toronto, Andersen, who signed with Denver, entered last night's game averaging 6.2 points on 58.3 percent shooting from the field, with 5.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks (fourth in NBA). "I was probably out of shape in the [Celtics] workout," Andersen said . . .

Last night, though, was just confirmation of what we already knew.  He can make some flashy plays on the defensive end (those three blocks) but he's not a very good individual defender.
