So we trade a 7 footer that has the potential to possibly wake up and be something for a scrub 3rd string guard that has no potential or will make no impact on this team whatsoever...great... ::)

Also I hate to break it to some of you posters, but the odds of the Knicks buying out Marbury to come to the Celtics, who they could play in the 1st round of the playoffs, is very doubtful.
I think the fact that Danny broke the golden rule of trades in the NBA, never deal height for guards, tells us all we need to know about what Danny thought about POB's chances of ever "waking up" and becoming something. The guy is a scrub beyond scrub.

Haha, oh man... You, Roy and Wide load should do dinner tonight :)

I think we might need to rent out a banquet hall for all the people disillusioned with Paddy.

Solomon is a good third string point guard but he has absolutely not role to play on the Celtics roster with an excellent starting point guard in Rondo, a very good backup point guard in Eddie House, and an excellent third string point guard in Gabe Pruitt, all three of whom are better than Solomon.

Is this a sign that the C's are going to use Pruitt as Tony Allen's replacement? The deal just seems off in some way.

How is Pruitt better than Solomon? hes not

Yes he is

I doubt it. Based on what I've seen, Pruitt will not be in the NBA two years from now. Not that I couldn't be wrong, but what has he done?

solomon averaged 3 assists and half a steal per 14 minutes, 3pt percentage is below 30%, not bad overall, if starbury doesn't come here not much of a downgrade

I would rather have held onto POB than take this trash PG.

Will be interesting to see if POB gets PT, since they have moved JO.  I still think that Bargnani is a 4 (or even a 3) not a 5.  Who else does Toronto have at that 5??

Bargnani will play the 5. They also have Jawai and Jake Voskuhl. That's already 3 players vastly superior to POB, I don't think he'll play a lot more.

It's really impressive that some people still believe POB can play in the NBA. I'm pretty sure there are still some Kendrick Brown fans hidden in the woodwork.

Hell, didn't someone start a bring back Gerald Green thread and was sincere about it the other day?

Some people's eyes for NBA talent are a bit skewed, I've determined.

According to SI, we're *not* getting Solomon:

Quote
In a minor three-team deal, Toronto is sending Will Solomon to Sacramento, the Celtics are moving Patrick O'Bryant to Toronto and Boston is receiving a conditional second-round pick from the Kings, according to a league source. The Celtics may never use the pick because it is so heavily protected, but they will save money by dumping O'Bryant's salary.

That sounds much better. Wow, I guess our team thought really high of POB. That is too bad he did not pan out.

2 open roster spots. Danny knows something. Let us keep our fingers crossed that Star and Smith join our team.

Good, that guy hasn't done a [dang] thing for us since he got here.  God, Danny sucks.
