Solomon is a good third string point guard but he has absolutely not role to play on the Celtics roster with an excellent starting point guard in Rondo, a very good backup point guard in Eddie House, and an excellent third string point guard in Gabe Pruitt, all three of whom are better than Solomon.

Is this a sign that the C's are going to use Pruitt as Tony Allen's replacement? The deal just seems off in some way.

How is Pruitt better than Solomon? hes not

Yes he is

nah uh

yes sah

no way

yes way

he's better!

The Italian has a name. At least give him some respect even if he is foreign.

POB's shown steady improvement:

06-07 Total Points for Season: 31

07-08 Total Points for Season: 35

08-09 Total Points for Season: 40

and there's still a third of a season left...

Hopefully the guy figures out a way to earn some run time

So we trade a 7 footer that has the potential to possibly wake up and be something for a scrub 3rd string guard that has no potential or will make no impact on this team whatsoever...great... ::)

Also I hate to break it to some of you posters, but the odds of the Knicks buying out Marbury to come to the Celtics, who they could play in the 1st round of the playoffs, is very doubtful.

No....I decided I can't be. This makes what has otherwise been a crappy week.

I like Solomon better than Pruitt, but not Toronto's Solomon. He can play better than he did in the last few months though, I'm certain of that.

Globe reporting that POB to Sac isn't final and he may go to Raptors for Will Solomon instead

Oh, man. I don't know about trading POB within the division. Could come back to haunt us.

Good one, TP

I think the fact that Danny broke the golden rule of trades in the NBA, never deal height for guards, tells us all we need to know about what Danny thought about POB's chances of ever "waking up" and becoming something. The guy is a scrub beyond scrub.

POB has no potential, at least according to two separate franchises at this point.

Solomon is a decent backup.  Nothing special, but decent.  He's a better player than POB, anyway.

Solomon got shown up in a bad way by the Raptors lack of ballhandlers, passers, penetrators, go-to scorers. That offense needed a third string point guard to be equal to a player of TJ Ford's caliber in order to be successful.

I agree that Solomon isn't as bad as he appeared in Toronto. He'll look a lot better in Boston when surrounded with the talent here.

I agree, the odds of POB being anything are slim, but there was still a chance.
