  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
That makes sense.  Again, it saves us money on the luxury tax, rather than cutting him outright.

One less guy for posters to complain doesn't get PT. A sign that there will be no more trades that improve us at this point and it is all about preparing for guys cut.

How nice of a basketball cart did we get for him?  Cause if it turns out one of the wheels is screwy, I'm going to feel ripped off.  Well, not totally ripped off, but maybe a little bit.

BTW, did anyone else feel a little bit competitive when it turned out the Lakers traded Mihm for a conditional, very unlikely 2nd-rd pick in 2013, whereas ours was in 2015?  [dang] you Kupchak!!!

If there's one ball in the cart, I consider it a fair deal.

In all serious, wouldn't this deal effectively kill our chances of bringing in Nocioni? POB's contract would have been needed as a throw in to make things work.

Unless [shudder] Powe is substituted for POB. That's a deal breaker for me.

And now we can sign Marbury and Smith without trading any young players we actually value. HOORAY!

That's a lot better than cutting him.

Good riddance O'Bryant. I have been waiting all year to get rid of this guy.

The Celtics have traded backup center Patrick O'Bryant to the Sacramento Kings. The move was made for salary-cap purposes and the club will not receive a player in return, according to an NBA source.

There is the possibility that the club will receive a draft pick in exchange for the 7-footer, who averaged 1.5 points in 26 games for the Celtics after signing as a free agent in the offseason.

O'Bryant was not at the Celtics' shootaround this afternoon.
