Due to circumstances, Powe and House weren't players you wanted down the stretch on the floor regardless of how good they were playing. During the course of the game, he gave House and Powe plenty of playing time... it wasn't like he was oblivious to what they were doing, they simply didn't fit with the lineup we needed on the floor down the stretch. It's not hard to understand.
You bring in House, and sit who? Rondo? I think we'd get full court pressed to death, and they're quite a good team at that. I doubt we would've handled it properly. Davis was in there simply to spread the floor to let Pierce do his thing... we just didn't have any other options... he was chosen by default. So the other option is sit down Perk and bring in Powe, don't know if that's wise with the type of length the Lakers have.
Anyways, I wouldn't have minded seeing Powe in there, but there was NOTHING wrong with the reasoning and the decision employed by Doc in this regard.
