Powe with 10 points and 8 rebounds disappears from the Garden

House with 16 points and 4/6 from 3 point land disappears from the Garden

Davis with 2 points on 1/8 shooting and 3 rebounds is jacking up shots

unacceptable

no excuses

if you disagree

you didn't watch the game

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Who would you want Powe defending?

He would've given up more points than he scored.

The only thing Davis did wrong was take that shot that got blocked.

Old news Doc is a moron.  Though I have stated it a few times tonight why Powe and House were not in is beyond me.  People will make the case BBD plays better D, but not when he's covering Odom or Gasol, they're to quick for him.  Powe also was a man rebounding the ball tonight as well.  Doc totally blew this game.

powe would have done as good a job defensively as davis

coaches are supposed to players in a position to win the game

we lost the game because he wanted to build up baby's confidence

that 2nd jump shot was horrendous

absolutely pitiful

what was he thinking

It's not just Doc, we SUX in general (except ray). Coaching sux, players sux (except ray) management sux. I'd say fire doc, ainge, and trade every player(except ray).

You mean you just want people
to chime in and say how bad
a coach Doc is? You don't want
good arguments pro/con? In my
honest opinion, a waste of time.

Pierce hits a shot the C's win their 13th straight.

Doc sucks enough to win a lot of games and a championship.

Lighten up.
Yup

what does not make any sense is taking 2 absolutely freakin hot players and then they see the pine the rest of the game...

you give me some kind of realistic explanation...

I actually wanted to make a thread about this subject. And the truth is, as much as I love Eddie, Doc had no choice. Defensively, besides during the last 30 seconds when he could sub offense for defense, Eddie could not be in the game. The Lakers had Fisher and Bryant playing the 1 and 2, so you simply cannot have both House and Rondo in the game in that situation. Pierce was playing phenomenal defense on Bryant, so you can't take him off Kobe and put Rondo on him. Without that option, you have no options. It was either going to be Rondo or Eddie, not both, and as well as Eddie was playing you have to finish with Rondo.

And again with Powe, although he was playing really well himself, you need somebody in their who has a prayer of hitting a jumper at the 4. When KG fouled out, Baby was the only choice. The Celtics' problem was that they didn't have enough guys in their who could keep LA honest with their jumpers. They obviously sorely missed KG for this and other reasons, and as Doug Collins did a good job of reminding us near the end of the game, Boston actually missed Scal tonight. Oh yeah, and Big Game James would have been nice to have playing the 4 once KG fouled out, as well.

EDIT: As bad as the Celtics executed on offense down the stretch, they would have played even worse had Powe been in the game.

Eddie House - for THREEEEEEE!

I agree, and like I've said old news Doc is a bad x's and o's coach, but the NBA is and always will be a players league, outside Popovich and Sloan.

Yeah, it wasn't Doc's finest hour, but I blame a lot of the execution on the team, too.

I see why your screen name is "Change"  ;)
I think SSF 4.0 may like your trade idea
since it doesn't involve Ray  :D

well he did make some mistakes tonight...

and it's not the first time...

what about going with the hot hand...

that's the oldest rule in coaching...

he had 2 hot hands...

and took them out...

i don't care about matchups and philosophy...

you always go with the hot hand...

every coach knows that...
