The only thing that I'm worried about is him getting more than two game suspension. I want him to play against the Fakers.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
the only thing i'm upset about is that it wasn't a fist and allen iverson's face...

I dont think anyone is saying that Perk's foul on Maxiel was not potentially dangerous to the opposition. Nor, do I think that anyone here wants to see this behavior perpetuated but physical basketball is a part of the game. It may not always be right but again, I think it's much worse to catch a player who is driving for a layup and is flying through the air and jumping as high as he can. For heaven's sake, Lebron the almighty recently leveled Rondo with a similar type play. It should be menitioned too that it was hardly even considered a hard foul.

That being said, if it cuts down on Perks ability to play tough, physical bball then it was not smart. Dennis Rodman, like him or not you can't argue his skills, was not always the smartest player but he was very, very effective in what he did.

i would be in absolute shock if he got more than a two game suspension. one game actually seems much more fitting...

if he got longer they would almost have to appeal...

i just want to ask again: did anybody watch the post-game....and if so, what did Tommy have to say about the play?

Well there is 0% he gets any more than 1 game.  But beyond your hyperbolic thug comments I support Perk fouling Maxiell hard as heck without trying to hurt him.  The fact that he crumpled at the hands of the mighty Perk makes no difference to me.  Take a game off Perk we'll see you Philly.

I'm assuming this is for me - how is saying that there will be a perception that Perk is a thug hyperbolic?  I very specifically said I didn't consider him a thug, but others would after seeing that play. Whether it matters to you or not, if you don't think some people, including within the league, will have that reaction then you're nuts.

Incidents like this are what push players closer to the Artest Zone, where refs will T and flagrant them, and the commish will suspend them, for anything borderline because of their past history.  Artest deserves to be there, Perk doesn't.  This hurts our team in the short run and could hurt Perk's ability to do his job in the long run.

Or not you have no idea what other people will think.  We disagree.  You think you know what other people will think and I think you don't and are blowing it out of proportion.  See Artest Zone for an example of hyperbole.

Do you know what disagreeing with someone who says "some" people will react in a certain way means?  It means you're arguing that "no" people will react that way.  If you honestly think no one will see Perk as a thug after that foul, 2 seconds of Googling can correct that.

IF he gets suspended it would be prolly for the sixers game...too late to act for tomorrow vs the t wolves...cant see him missing v the lakers...the NBA prolly wants to showcase that game and would have both teams at full strength

Fricking Maxielle. Some seem to forget last year playoffs. I liked how Perk rolled his hip in to him to make sure he went down.  Skilled.

Iverson is truly becoming more annoying every day, however, he's not worth a huge suspension.  If POB had a pair, we could send this waste of flesh into the game to annihilate punks, but oh wait, didn't Temple University try this goon tactic and get in a wee little bit of trouble?

I liked when KG pounced on Rip for the ball.I think it was a little payback for swiping BBD across the face earlier.

Hopefully Gasol, Bynum, and the rest of the Fakers took note of that last night.  While I don't totally support what Perk did, I do like the fact that opposing players near the rim might not only think of having their shot blocked, but also having their bodies slammed to the floor, before going up for a shot.
