Did anyone else hear Devin harris on TNT? when asked what he's looking forward to the most, he said  “seeing the other players in a different light, the paul pierces and kobe bryants” hehe, what, no lebron? ...he must be a fan of pierces, he does wear the #34 ;D

Maybe I made a big deal of the whole thing in my head. Now when you really think about the whole thing, the only thing that matters is that we are winning and you can't say that the magic ownership would rather have Howard, Nelson and Lewis over Paul, Ray and Kevin....not for the next few years anyways.

Ray got snubbed as did Mo Williams. Nelson is not an all-star (16.9ppg, 5.4 apg is an all-star). Jefferson and Durant got snubbed in the West. West isn't an all-star.

I can't really say Rondo got snubbed. He's helped a LOT by the team he's on, and even then, he's not putting up numbers like some of the other guys. 11/8/5/2 is terrific, but if we're choosing the 12 best guys in the conference, I'm not gonna choose Rondo.

Ray Allen, though? Seriously? His shooting is absolutely incredible, and it's not because he won't get the attention of Pierce and Garnett. The man makes his own offense, shoots from everywhere, and has been perhaps the best offensive player on this team. He's got the 3rd best TS% of players playing 30+ minutes a game, behind Nene and Calderon.

He's an all-star. If someone (God forbid) gets hurt and can't play, he'd better be the first guy they call.

Iverson is a joke. West is a joke. Lewis is kind of a joke.

Right on, on all accounts.

East:
Jameer Nelson
Rashard Lewis
Paul Pierce
Joe Johnson
Chris Bosh
Devin Harris
Danny Granger

West:
Shaquille O’Neal
Pau Gasol
David West
Dirk Nowitzki
Tony Parker
Chauncey Billups
Brandon Roy

Our boy Ray Ray got snubbed, Thoughts?

Wow, the east is going to get rocked this year. I only see 3 true all-stars on that list: Pierce, Johnson, and Bosh. The rest are questionable. The only thing that the Western coaches messed up on was Al Jeff, but ti's still arguable.

The Nelson, and Harris picks really bother me. Jameer Nelson is a point who plays with 5 or 6 great shooters, and a superstar freak athlete center, but can't average more than 5 assists. As for Devin Harris I see it like this....

Devin Harris: shooting guard + plays pointguard + subpar team = inflated stats.

Seriously i know you guys will disagree, but Carter is still the better player. These two selections just prove how much more highly valued scoring is over other statistics. Rondo and Ray are most definitely going to use this as fuel for their fire.

Devin Harris is just a rich man's Jamaal Crawford. Same stats at least. The west has some legit all stars. The east will get their beeps kicked.

Become Legendary.

That Western Conference lineup is kind of funny, only two wings in the whole roster with Kobe and Roy. They're going to get a lot of playing time. The East has six such players, it'll be interesting to see how those matchups work out.

I actually disagree, theres 2 different sides to the rondo stats argument, if he was playing on a worse team he would get more minutes and put up better stats, because the team would need more from him, that and he makes the big 3 better, without a good point guard, they would be an average team, and where would KG be this season without rondo feeding him right at the basket perfectly? his jumpshot is absent and he has no go-to the basket moves, all fade-aways..ray allens better play this season can also be contributed to rondo..imo of course

Dont see Harris, Nelson, or Lewis playing more than 10 minutes in this game.  If the west felt like it they could shut those guys down real easy. Paul or Johnson has a good chance to lead us in scoring though the west should win fairly easily.

No, you're going to choose players that Rondo outplayed like Harris and Nelson. While it doesn't matter towards the all-star game, defense matters.

Stan Van Gundy deserves alot of the credit for Jameer and Rashard being all-stars...Its because coaches are shocked about the magics record, and not the celtics, and all they can think about is that slump (which I think the celtics needed by the way)
if billy donovan takes that job, theres no chance they have the record they have and jameer and rashard are not in the all-star game...stan van gundy is a hell of a coach, one of my favorites..I hope he coaches our all-stars

I think they should combine PF/C and maybe SG/SF in the voting. I agree Ray deserves to be in, but not with the current rules in place. I can't put him ahead of Joe Johnson. Say what you want, but Jameer Nelson is having an all-star year (Mo Williams wasn't in the discussion until the last 2 weeks and Rondo can't go in without Ray there).

Shaq and AI make sense too because they're fan favorites and make the game exciting (Shaq's gotta defend his dance-off crown anyways). I'd love for KD and Big Al to go, but they'll get there sooner than later. Outside of Boston and Minny people really don't know Al, and KD's hype faded once he hit the pros. I wish they could put them or Melo there instead of Pau, but whatever.

I don't know KG did fine in Minny without much help. There is no reason to drag down other players on the team to lift another one up. They are all on the same team. Where would the team be without KGs energy and defense?

what's everyone's opinion of shaq making the team for the west?  personally, i don't see it.  this seems based upon his history and not his current play.  but i could be wrong...

Shaq has been Phoenix's best player this season and is deserving of being an All-Star. He's been excellent.
