True. Rondo may have the help of the Big 3 but Rondo makes their jobs easier as well.

Good point sometimes I forget how much Rondo helps the big 3 especially Ray and KG. Their efficiency now is partly due to playing with him.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

yea, as i said i have no problem with either harris or neslon making it (though it should clearly be harris out of the two) but not both. Thats ridiculous.  thanks to AI highlandering a slot, it screws up all the Gaurd spots to take 3 PG's.

Ray is the biggest shaft here, heck, you can make an argument (i wouldn't, but you could) that he should be in before paul.

Another guy that got screwed is mo will. Not to give our hated rivals a plug, but if im them, im pretty incensed that the magic get one legit all star and two " wow, really?" guys in, one of whom is a PG, and i can't get mo in?

If you absolutly HAVE to take 3 PG's and mess up the spot, i would have taken harris and mo. not harris and nelson.

I feel sorry with the Pistons. Ray is going to destroy them.

Well no, you actually couldn't.  Since the coaches have to pick by position any argument for Ray would have to be made verses another guard not a forward.
I honestly wonder if all of this talk about Rondo deserving a spot didn't actually subtract from Ray's chances of making the team.  Maybe the coaches split the vote between Rondo and Ray, ultimately costing them both.

Then why did 3 magic players make it? im sorry Im still not buying Jameer nelson as an  all star, and I'll be flipping the channel whenever he comes in the game, last year he was widely considered a scrub, now hes an all-star? wow stan van gundy is a hell of a coach

thats actually entirley inaccurate.

its tradition to pick 1 at every position, then they get 2 wildcard slots that can be used for anything, but its not set in stone.

As an example, who's the backup center they were forced to pick for the east?

Oh, thats right, they didn't take one, because they wanted another forward spot, and they are not in fact bound to pick x number of PG, SG, SF, PF, and C's.

Also, they play with postions all the time. Paul is listed as a SG/SF on the roster, and Ray has played SF. you could do it easily.

See Carter, vince- who has made it as both a gaurd and forward spot, depending on need to tweak the roster.

Jameer Nelson is averaging 17.0 PPG, 3.4 REB, 5.4 AST, 1.2 STLS, 50% FG, 45% from 3.  Why aren't those all star numbers?  He is having a great year

He deserves it more than Devin Harris who is putting up big points (and that's all) for a terrible team.

Also, Mo is averaging the same number of points per game as Nelson but is trailing in every other category except FT%.

As much as I wanted Mo to make it, Jameer deserves to be there.

Yeah, regardless of his numbers, Nelson is the top perimeter player on one of the top 4 teams in the entire NBA.

I made my argument in another thread, but I think Mo is behind Ray Allen for a spot on the roster.

Surprisely,Wilborn on PTI said Ray Allen should be on the AllStar team and not AI...we all know Ray belongs on it, but it has to be something to it when ESPN gives a Celtics some love.

Just heard Mike Brown talking about getting the allstar coaching nod. He thinks he's getting it because the Cavs have the best record in the east. Slow your roll Mike don't believe everything the media tries to sell you.

when is/was the cutoff for this?

and on this line of thought, i heard mark jackson during tonight's game make a point regarding great stat guys on losing teams shouldn't be making the all-star game.

right when i began to agree with him i realized something...when we sucked for all those years, yet PAUL PIERCE was putting up all-star numbers.  well, if PP didn't make the team how well do you think that would have been received here?

let's face it...there's only 12 slots, so someone has to be left off the team.  ray allen was that guy and sometimes you just have to accept that.

It would be alot easier to accept if one team didn't get more all stars then the team that has the best record and has beaten the other team in every game they played against each other. It would be fine if it was 2 for the Celtics and 2 for Orlando. I can imagine though Cavs have to be upset to get only one.

I think they decided today. On NBATV they said the tie breaker was that SVG coached the ASG a few games ago so it went to Brown
