Eh, I don't think Leon has ever not worked hard enough.  I just think he is still struggling with certain things (which is a little concerning), but more than anything, I don't think he was prepared for the adjustments other teams have made against him, now that they have a book on him.

Or maybe Leon Powe just isnt that good. I like the guy but I dont have expectations of him or Glen Davis to be much more than they are now. I would like to see more consistency, but that is all I think is reasonable. They were drafted in the second round for a reason, and will not ever be much more than role players.

As a said the other day, Powe is what he is.  A young Reggie Evans, for want of a better comparable.  There's nothing wrong with that.

If you keep wishing for Powe (or BBD) to become the next Garnett, you will be forever disappointed.

I'd take Powe, simply so I don't have to watch Baby take 15 foot jumpers anymore.

he's actualy shooting that jumper fairly well for a bench player, and it helps the bench spread the floor alot.

There's alot of things i don't like about BBD game. a developing 15 ft jumper is not one of them.

I don't agree that it's developing. I agree that he's taking it more often, but I'm not so sure it's truly improving. I think his fg percentage is way too low for a PF

Anyone complaining about BBD's jumpshot should take it up with the coaching staff, because they want him taking that shot, thats the main thing they wanted him to do in the offseason, and since day 1 this season told him to take it when hes open and we need a "big" who can hit that shot, so im not complaining..hes doing exactly what hes supposed to

How about some patience?  People keep ignoring the fact that this kid is only in his 2nd year.  He only starting taking the shot this season.  The Celtics think he can make that shot because that's what he did in college.  Every time Powe has a lousy game (which has been pretty frequent lately), no one says a word, as soon as BBD has a poor game, everyone wants him gone. LOL

I think the criticism of powe's recent games has been done just as much as baby's. The only diffrence is there are 2-3 posters who are more outspoken against baby on off nights. but "no one says a word"

Who would you compare him to? 

Reggie Evans doesn't really seem like a good comparison, unless referring to development, as there hasn't been much development in either guy's game.  I think Evans is a much worse offensive player than Powe though.

I couldn't come up with a better comparison.  Most of the other pfs coming off the bench (like Landry and Hayes in Houston, Craig Smith, Paul Millsap, etc. etc.) have jump shots.

Ok.  It makes more sense now why you made that comparison.

I always thought he reminded me a little of Bo Outlaw, or maybe Tyrone Hill.  I think they both may have been better defenders...but I really remember both of them later in their career, so I can see Powe continuing to improve to be a similar defender. 

I really think he is going to make his career in the same way they did, by being a tough rebounder, and energy guy, and a guy who does most his damage offensively on garbage baskets, like putbacks, dishes from driving guards, and of course by drawing contact and getting to the line.

I know some people on here are convinced that he is going to be more of a low post presence offensively...but I just don't see it.  His strength is in playing off others, and using his aggressiveness to finish, or draw contact inside.  He can take advantage of single coverage, if teams are not paying a lot of attention to him, but I never see him being the type of big man who can continue to be fed in the post and score past double and triple teams.
