If Danny could get McDyess, you'd think Scal will be the one to go. Gabe, Walker, Giddens, and POB all have upside. There is none is Scal.

I would agree if we are going to cut someone unless it is Cassell. I could also see us pushing Sam to coaching duty with the ability to cut Scal later in the year and bring back Sam if we needed to. I could also see us making a trade to go down. Maybe BBD for someone?! If McDyess comes then BBD won't see the floor.

no.

He is a vet player, and he will just sit until he can come back to his home.  There is no incentive for him to rush.

The only thing blocking it is if Detroit was in the mood for a youth movement and salary clearing.  I don't think this will be the case.  I think he is loyal to his home and happy to be on a good team.  I'd like him on the Green, but why would he come?   ???

I don't think it's possible that any of us knows what is going on in the head of Anyonio McDyess.  We don't know his living situation, we don't know the depth of his feelings for the city, whether his children love their school(s) or if his wife loves her home, her work, etc. Heck, I don't even know if has a wife and children.  What we can hope for is that McDyess is, or becomes, contemplative about the possibility of leaving Detroit.

If he begins to entertain the notion of leaving, it would seem that Boston would have to be in the running.  The appeal of playing for the defending champs who have minutes to provide him, an exciting basketball atmosphere, and an intense veteran team that plays hard every night.  There is a great deal of appeal, I would think, presuming Antonio is allowing for contemplation is hard to ignore.  We'll see if Danny can convince him to consider it -- it may require some selling -- but I think it is a good sign that he is in such demand by so many teams. I think it will be difficult to wait out 30 days when so many suitors are chomping at the bit. My guess is that he'll begin to consider alternatives to Detroit at some point, and when he does, Boston will be in the mix.

that is exactly what i was thinking, we are the defending champion, and after the way we beat detroit, he might feel that he has a better chance to get a ring with the celts.

To reiterate what he said after the trade:

"I don't want to be no ring-chaser, I don't want to be moving team to team being a ring-chaser. I can't do that. If I have to do that, I would definitely give it up. I mean, if I stay on this team another couple of years, we still have a chance, we just got to put our heart into it and do it."

You have to think he's heading back to Detroit. Which is fine by me. We beat them last year with McDyess, and I think Detroit will be easier to beat with Iverson.

I'd worry more if McDyess went to Cleveland, or maybe even Orlando.

I found this regarding Antonio McDyess' family on a Pistons blog site. Apparently it lists all the family details for each Piston.

Antonio McDyess just got married I think in July. He married his longtime girlfriend Liara Williams. I haven't seen a picture of her yet, but if I find one I'll post it. Antonio also have a nine year old son name Artavious.

Okay, being a family man myself, I know that it is not easy to uproot a wife and kid. I did it once with my family because of a job and it was hell for 18 months on the wife and two of my boys.

Everyone can assume what they want about his desire for a title but in many ways you are fooling yourselves into false hope that McDyess would come here chasing a title. Say what you want about "we don't know the details" and "his wife and kid could hate where they live" but again that is just false hope.

McDyess is an affluent man who has moved his family to the Detroit area. Kids will eventually love where they live given time. He's been there quite a while. There's little to no chance his kid doesn't love where they live and their friends and schools and neighborhoods and surroundings.

Billups, who's wife and family according to reports are extremely tight with the McDyess family, has already said that it wasn't going to work for McDyess to be anywhere but Detroit. He said he wasn't going to uproot. It just doesn't look good and I'd hate for members here to get in a tizzy about the possibilities of McDyess coming here simply because we beat down the Pistons. Heck, McDyess could just as easily been thinking to himself that the loss wouldn't have occurred if he had been playing.

Anything is possible, I'm not saying it isn't. Just that all things considered given what I've been through, all the money in the world can't force happiness upon one's family if you tear them from everything they love and hold familiar and dear to themselves.

Miller said that 19 teams have inquired about McDyess' status, and it's possible that the veteran forward could return to the Pistons, the team who traded him on Monday, along with Chauncey Billups and Cheikh Samb, in exchange for Allen Iverson.

Hot Property, geesh!

Where's the love for Cheikh Samb?

Wasnt Cheikh Samb a Cold Chisel song?

Haha, Close enough. (Khe Sanh) TP for that my friend.

To clarify, McDyess said that after last year's Conference Finals, not after the trade.  His sentiment may not have changed much, but who knows?
