I agree more with the posters in the beginning of the year lol.

Keep in mind also that due to the economy and income of the nba, offseason contracts will be a bit lower and more conservative than usual.

I think they'll offer Rondo $8.5million/year for 4-5 years, provided they do it this offseason and it takes the place of his next years paltry salary.

Powe I hope they resign in the neighborhood of $2.5 to $3.0 million, and actually give him more minutes.  Doc would bench Gomes in favor of Scal, Rondo in favor of Telfair, and Powe in favor of anyone.  Hopefully he gets more of a shot.

BBD should not get more than $1.0 / year for 2-3 years.  I'm sorry, but he's replaceable and easily upgradeable for a bit more money.  I know some will disagree, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if the Celtics let him walk.

Pruitt can't command much as he's never going to be a starter in the NBA.  I don't mind keeping him on as a 3rd stringer for just under a mil.

can't discount powes efforts a couple of games ago helping us win but you don't have to be a genius that with big baby starting we might have not lost the past few games we might have.

Big baby iq, strentgh and jump shot no doubt is > powes aggressive play, better hops at the offensive end . (slight edge also for bbd in the defensive end = footspeed, excellent at boxing out)

Triboy, do you honestly believe that BBD is 1) stronger, and 2) better at boxing out than Powe?

I would disagree that BBD's substition over Powe the last few games would have netted us more wins.  In fact, I think we would have lost more.. (notably the game Powe had 30 pts, 11 rebs, and 5 blocks).

I know it's a hot topic here, but at least concede the stronger & boxing out points lol

I beleive that BBD is stronger and better at boxing out than Powe.  Powe is quicker to go to the ball, however.

Powe and Davis are both 3-4 million-dollar players.  Pruitt and Walker are worth the minimum and will be bargains for whichever team picks them up.  Giddens isn't worth squat. Tony Allen will be another bargain after they trade him away.  They don't miss him on defense nearly as much as KG, but they miss him.

I agree about Powe and Davis (at least based on last year's market...its tough to put a dollar amount on them for next year, since the economy could really influence the market, and cost them some money).

Walker isn't going anywhere though.  I believe the C's have him locked up for 4 years, and I expect him to be well more than a minimum player by the time he is a FA again (if he ever makes it to free agency).

Pruitt will be interesting.  I think he has some maturing to do, but could be a decent player at some point.

I have been saying forever that Allen will look like a huge bargain on a rebuilding team, because he will be able to put up very nice numbers if he is given the green light...I just don't think he will do it for a good team, since he is not good as a role player, but is not good enough to be a star on a good team.  I think he is basically a poor man's Salmons or Wallace (and I think both of them are much better on bad teams than good ones as well).  He is going to make some GM look like a genius for at least a while.

With Giddens, it is way too early to know what is going to happen with him.  If I had to make a guess at this point, I would agree that he will be out of the league sooner rather than later...but I am not ready to give up on him yet.

Rondo - 7 mil per
Powe - 3 mil per (although he is playing his way into 4 or 5)
Davis - 1.5 or 2 mil per
Pruitt - minimum

Some more thoughts on Powe: I think he is really turning into a solid bench player and should have a nice long career. He is way too small and limited to be a starter though.

Some revised numbers now that we're almost through the regular season:

Rondo - $45/5 (9 per year and still potential to rise)
Powe - $10/3 (3-4 per year - could reach 16/4)
Davis - $10/3 (closer to 3 per year)
Pruitt/Walker/Giddens - minimum
Perkins (still young) - $35/5 (7 per year)
Tony Allen (still young) - $3/2 (1.5/year)

The probelem with Giddens is that he is nearly 24.  He may turn into a decent player later (like Jemmario Moon), but right now his market value is nil, especially since he is owed first round guaranteed money, which becomes nearly 2 million in 2011/12.

Very true.  He has absolutely no market value right now.  But he has plenty of time to change that...he just needs to get his head on straight.  I personally would bet on a guy with less talent, but a more balanced mental game, but guys like that have had success in the past.

I think Glen Davis will be down around a minimum contract this offseason, most likely above the minimum but low value like $1.5mil per year. The ceiling I'd place on his next contract is about $2.5mil per annum.

I can't see anyone offering him $3-4mil a season.
